Ssd have warranty based on time and maximum read write cycles.if you cross that limit in a month then warranty will be over in month.Time doesn't count in this situation even if 59 months are remaining in warranty.People used these ssds in Chia coin mining. When these ssds failed miners tried to claim warranty unknown of fact there is read write cycle also. All of these warranties were turned down.1tb ssd had 500tb data written on it within one month.Miners had these high capacity 2tb,4tb nvmes with 1000tb,2000tb data written on them on average basis in a single month.I don't know how Chia mining is done. One of my friend told me miners have to make a plot of many such ssds more ssds more coin like gpu mining. In gpu mining it's called and in ssd mining it's called plot maybe because of small size of ssds. This Chia mining costed miners very dearly.IMHO these ssds died within 2,3 months and if one had 10, 4tb ssd dead he had losses his lakhs.Later miners started tracking write and read data and removed ssd from plot when it was 20,30 tb behind max read and write limit. Then ssds were reset to 0 data by using some software and sold them in market as brand new pulled from oem drives.they couldn't get warranty after reset also maybe ssd makers knew it's fake info written on ssds. These ssds are floating in market now available for as low as 20k for 4tb nvme.I don't understand how can people believe such thing that these were pulled out from new laptop.why one would remove a 2tb or 4tb ssd from laptops and what they will upgrade to? These are not 250gb ssds but high capacity ssds. These ssds will work for 2,3 months and then dies and buyer thinks he had bad luck.Be careful while dealing in such 2nd hand ssds pulled from laptop without warranty. There are also reports that Chinese are making their own ssds m putting stickers and floading Indian market with these fake ssds.when everything is available at one place it's much easier to make counterfeited products.
