Currently using a 4850, great card and playing games like cod black ops, splinter cell conviction, fallout etc. Lately I have been seeing some basic artifacts on screen, not too regular, but seems the card is bidding goodbye.

needed some advice as to a new card.

Pls note that I will not be upgrading the system, so pls recommend a card that does full justice to present config.

If there are cheaper cards then certainly the saving would be worth it.

1. What is your budget?

upto 10000, with slight deviation

2. Current rig Specs

CPU E6750 C2d

Motherboard Gigabyte Ep 45 ud3l

RAM 4 gb 1+1+1+1

Monitor Acer 19 "

3. Which PSU/SMPS will you be using?

Corsair vx 450

4. Primary use?

Medium level gaming, movies etc

5. What resolution do you game on?

1280x 1024 or if the game supports 1440x 900

6. Interested in Crossfire/SLI?

No

7. Open to both Nvidia/ATI?

Yes

A 6850 at that price point is unbeatable.

Considering the resolution isn't that high, you should be able to max anything and everything. :)

Thanks for replying !

Please let me know what are its closest rivals ? and their prices ?

Whats your take on the Gts 450 / Gtx 460 or the hd 5770 ?

I have only one power cable for the Gpu, I hope the 6850 does not need two !

Is it just plug and play , cause I use Win xp sp2 and very satisfied, no 64 bit for me !

HD6850 just requires one PCI-E 6Pin Power Connector... And your VX450 has one so just stop worrying... Ur PSU can hande even GTX460 :)

HD6850 rapes all cards below 10k.. To power HD6850 it will need a Single PCI-e connector.. :)

Are there many flavors of the 6850 like gt, gs, gts etc. or is it just one plain vanilla model ?

Which brand would you recommend ?what are the members favourites ?

I am in mumbai, where can I get one from a reliable dealer?
