Which card should I get for gaming at 1280x1024?

Wanna keep on gaming on max for like a year or so :D
6670 should be best bet...

And as per my knowledge, at low resolutions more work has to be done by your CPU rather than by GPU..So 6670 is better for you for atleast an year or so. Its the higher resolutions at which your GPU does more work than CPU (I tried to explain in simple words rather)... cheers

I am buying hd 6850 gpu, which brand should i choose?

and which is the lowest price will i get and where in mumbai?
Get sapphire 6850 ...VFM card... I am not sure whether MSI 6850 cyclone is available at lamington. You can check,if its available for 10.5K then MSI cyclone is THE BEST. If you are willing to spend more money on 6850 then get ASUS DIRECT CU 6850 (if you are looking for a good looking black PCB and sexy cooler)

i would suggest an HD6570 or HD6670 or HD5670 for that resolution

pros over 6850 are

  1. much lesser costs about a half of that of HD6850
  2. lesser power so any good PSU rated at 400w will do
  3. lesser noise and lesser temps
  4. no visible difference in performance between 6850 and 5670 at the said resolution
  5. 5670/6670 should max out every game for at least a year at said resolution
Benchmark Results: Crysis 2 : AMD Radeon HD 6670 And 6570: Turkeys Or Turkish Delights?

Read this review, even at 1280x1024 it doesn't perform well in crysis 2 :(

Try asking primeabgb or itwares, but I not sure whether they have it in stock... You can get it from SMC international online....ask them about delivery charges

Would not trust C2C. They are famous for selling fake GPUs. There was this case, where an nVidia adapter was sold as something else. And this happened at their brick-mortal shop.

Imagine online..!

Thats bad,if its true,i will try at prime abgb,i hope that i will get it under 9.5k.

You can get a sapphire or MSI 6850 normal version for that price but not the msi cyclone

^^ Its between ~ 20000/- to 22000/- depending on brand, features and gimmickry here in Bangalore, the HD 6950 2GB stock PCB card from Sapphire is a much better card (can be unlocked) -- AMD Radeon HD 6950 to HD 6970 Mod | techPowerUp, thermals are similar but power consumption is in check and if gaming is all you need this a beast of a performer ~ 16500/-.

If you need to work on production applications like MAYA and CAD go the nVidia path, plug-in support is superior.
