hmm thanks man but still...... now that i have googled HD4670 vs HD5450 i see the difference clearly ... should have done it before buyin the card.. my bad.. thanks for ur help dude :) i was about to settle with 8400 GS :p
 
since you want a query so here is one, about gt 460s overclock ability, i have seen some people take it to 1010 mhz:crazy: and beet a 480, my god i am impressed with 460,

so whats your take on it, which vendor's gpu is most likely(i know its not garranteed) to overclock like a beast, plz assist me because i wana buy one gt 460 but the one with best parts and cooling so that it dont break down under stress!!!:D
 
that 1010 u have seen is on core?
i think stock is 607 mhz....that is godlike OC
it must've been cooled by a waterblock....

i think u shud go for zotac...

where did u find 460 beating 480....its hard to believe, and find....googled it, came up with nothing
 
I dont think it will go upto 1000 mhz..unless extreme enthusiast means are applied..
800 mhz is what the pre overclocked cards will be offering..

what do you think about MSI it impressed me though, i can wait for it!!!
 
I got few questions,

  1. between ATI 5770 (MSI Hawk=9.2k) & GTX 460 768MB (msi cyclone=~12k), which gfx card will cripple first in Full HD?

    the 128bit but 1GB ATI or the 192bit but 768MB RAM nVidia?
  2. which will give more overall performance?
  3. is ATI enough for casual gaming (GTA4, Dirt2, f1 2010...) or is GTX 460 worth the extra 3k?
  4. this is going to be a one time purchase for 3+ years, so advice needed. :D
  5. PS. i know ati 5770 is very poor performer in DX11 mode, but should i really consider that?

I'm going to buy a gfx card for urgent CAD use now, so thats why wanted to know whether to wait for GTX460 or just go for 5770?

if you like to overclock then 460 is a better choice.

i dont know about hd movies experience as i dont watch movies very often,

as far as casual gamming is concerned 5770 is way more than enough, i am happy with mine keeping in mind its price, AA is not 5770s strong point all other settings could be set to close to max generaly, i played singularity, Prince of persia forgt. sands at max settings but without AA.

GTX 460 performs slightly better than the HD 5830..
Its above the HD 5770 ..If you will be gaming at HD resolution..the GTX 460 is the obvious choice over the HD 5770..

If casual gaming is all what you will be doing..the HD 5770 will suffice..
3 Years is a long way down...with the tech updating at this rate...i doubt any of the card will be able to play the games at good level at that time..

GTX 460 can be overclocked to match a HD 5850..it surely seems like a worthy investment then.
 
hmmm, so the 460 768MB version is worth the wait.

460 1gb costs 15k, 1. its out of my budget, 2. if i had the budget i'd rather buy the 5850 itself :p

read few reviews of 5770, after OC the performance gain is around 10-15% only.
 
yeah, wait...
youll be gaming at HD resolution so no point in getting the HD 5770..
wait for the 768mb version to release...
and by that time the 1 gig ver price may come down too... :D

Zotac 768MB is on sale for Rs.11,900 from Yantra Online in ero dov forum for weeks now.

my components

x2 555 3.2 Ghz

4gb ram 1600mhz

vx450

resolution- 1440x900

now the thing is that i was going for 5770 when gtx 460 came by !! so wat i wanna kno will gtx 460 wil be an overkill for this setup??? and will x2 555 bottleneck it ??? is 5770 hawk better than vanilla gtx 460 ????

my friend bottelnecking is a relative term, if a game is two threaded than a slow quad core will bottelneck it, and if it is 3 or 4 threaded then a dual core will bottelneck it, a processor with 3.2 gigs and 6 mb L3 cashe is enough for a 460 it should not bottelneck it!!

oh ya i saw a review on you tube and a 555 BE is good enough for a 5870 even!!!

i amazed that you haven't unlocked it, did you try?
 
well one of my cores is bad so its a x3 b55 for me lolzz:) !!! i havnt got TI at the moment and also using stock heatsink !!! temperatures worry me 48C on load with x2.

is it advisable for me to buy hd5770@9.2k?(or should i wait for gts450?)

have come across various forums

where users are having all kinds of problems with hd5770!

dunno whether the issues were solved! :(
