What if it cost u a fortune back then its not even entry level by today's standards. Sell it off and add some more cash to ur budget and the below.

There is no use upgrading to a AGP card at this time. its just waste of money.http://www.superwarehouse.com/Asus_P4GE-MX_Motherboard/P4GE-MX/ps/431717 This is ur mobo ri8?

Get this rig and u would be amazed at the rig, little money can get u now :D

AMD AthlonII X4 245 ~ 2.6k

Asus M4A78LT-M LE ~ 2.7k

Kingston 2GB DDRIII 1333MHz ~ 1.4k

FSP SAGAII 350w SMPS ~ 1.5k

Total: 8.2k

Hi,

I want to add a graphic card with HDMI output to my old PC.

Requirement - Watching HD movies on TV through its HDMI Out.

Motherboard - MSI K8NGM2-FID

It has 2 PCI-E slots - PCI Express x 16 & PCI Express x 1 (Both unused, I am using the onboard video)

CPU - AMD64 Athon 3200

Card has to be nVidia and I am willing to spend 3-5K

I have been out of touch with latest developments since many years, therefore need your advice for the same :)

Check here relative graphic card comparison this might help you in choosing right graphic card for your budget. I hope you have generic PSU so buy the card having no PCI-E power connector otherwise you have to change your power supply. Go with DDR3 if possible DDR5

Actually my PSU is a heavy duty CoolerMaster and it does has a PCI-E power connector. So I am open to suggestions with that option!

Thanks for the suggestion! I will check it out! Can you please also tell me which slot does it goes in - PCI Express x 16 or PCI Express x 1? Does this needs a power connector?

Are there any fanless options out there (to keep noise minimum) ?

It uses PCI Express x 16 slot. It consumes ~31w so extra power connector is not necessary.

Not able to find passively cooled GT210 in indian online store. try the retailers at ur place. but was able to find the GT430 ~ 4.9k

Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 ZT-40601-20L 1GB DDR3

There are couple of cheap ATI options though. As u are out of touch with market u may not be knowing this but ATI is more than match up for Nvidia these days with some excellent cards.

MSI 4350 1 GB

MSI HD 5450 1 GB

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5450 11166-07-41R 1GB DDR3

MSI HD4350 1GB DDR2~ 2.4k

MSI HD5450 1GB DDR3~ 3.35k

Sapphire HD5450 1GB DDR3~ 3.35k

All these cards consume <50w and use PCI-E X16 slot and doesnt need a separate connector.
