And only impatient idiots who don't care to read the instructions to the T end up bricking. It is a known fact that flashing anything in a phone is a slightly risky process which is why there are precautions and instructions :P

I don't even remember the number of times I've flashed and reflashed radio on my trusty old G1 :lol:

anyways its not always about following instruction
i am flashing roms since 2006 and i know some thing about it for sure, many a times the zip files u download are corrupt, even the beta4 of kenneth i downloaded first was corrupt and gave me bootloops and just didnt move beyond the dualcore screen
i downloaded again and this time without a downloader manager and everything was smooth
but my point is if the radio image u download is slightest bit corrupt then there is just no going back,
if ur computer just reboots during flashing the PDA image then u can revert again but no going back with a radio image

but still i may be a impatient idiot as u prefer to call me but i have seen things which you may not have .....

winMo was a different thing and things have become much more userfriendly over the years.

Screwing up takes efforts or ignorance. I know one would hardly pay efforts to screw up so the remaining part is ignorance... Just take care about that so that you will be aware of what you are doing and how can that be reversed.

Plus, all packages are zipped and checksumed and they do not flash if checksum fails.

there are no raw files to go wrong with. Only thing to go wrong is the mistake in following instructions. If you follow them properly with understanding of pre-requisites then there is hardly anything to go wrong. Just don't assumed the solution when things go wrong, If things go wrong then search, read or ask about it :)

About your concerns with radio..

I did not confirm but Im not sure you can screw that up here in android. i may be wrong, i did not confirm.

just backup your pds partition on atrix that is all.
 
Yes, it is very likely to brick your phone while flashing Radios and bootloaders! Other than that, everything is relatively safe! BTW, I upgraded my radio to .91 and it has been working great so far! Want to try out Ninja 0.4.3 + Faux's OC kernel as soon as I get some time!
 
They are constantly making changes..

yeserday cherry 1.1a and today 1.2

I posted in his thread for missing changes so if he reflects then we will have 1.2a soon.

I just wish they added upgrade packages as the changes ae not radicle and it is waste of bandwidth otherwise..
 
^^I agree! SamCripp has actually released the 0.4.X (point) releases as patches over 0.4! Every developer should do that IMO!
 
I was waiting for the official release of GB from moto to upgrade...But now cant wait longer...will try out cherryblur this weekend...

Does anyone have any issues with APNs after flashing cherry or ninja ? Wifi and calling seems to work fine and even the EDGE symbol shows up...but no data transfer happens. I'm using an Airtel maharashtra sim and roaming in mumbai. i have checked and enabled all the data roaming options and settings. Also created a new APN for airtel and checked that too..but no data transfer is happening. Wondering if it has something to do with the new .91 radio or something . Is GPRS data working for you guys ? Did you upgrade the radio ?
 
downloading the cherryblur 1.2 now, wud have gone the ninja way but since madnav suggested the gradient issue is gone with the Orange leak, so am moving to cherryblur for now

but saw very good reviews for ninja, i know am a flashing addict, just wanted to stay away from this till my exams but 6months waitin is too much, lol
 
we are getting cm7.x for sure..

The only question is whether or not before OTA GB update :P

gradients have not completely gone.

you will notice theme slightly.

Do not use use smaller images, use high res or 960x1080 else you will have gradients.. I know stating the obvious :P

The radio issue.

I'm not facing such issue on 1.1a (radio is 0.1.87)

I am not upgrading to 1.2 since this is working well for me so far and i'm waiting to see more roms.. also watching other roms and will try if I get bored :lol:
 
Yup. ninja is awesome. Running it right now . Also flashed the new pudding which fixes memory issues. Loving my Atrix so far... but i really miss my Vibrants AMOLED display. Sigh!! you cant get everything at this price point..

Navalyant guy behind cherry blur says he doesn't have device to work about so future development will be slow.

Which is stable alternative for this?

I dont like the red theme in cherryblur.

there is 'stock' theme in the OP of that thread.

and he is not willing to spend much time developing the rom now because he is awaiting cynogenmod kernel (which will be base for his further development), which he believes to be around the corner.

the rom for me is so far slight unstable

1.rebooted when started the camera first time
2.rebooted again when using the fingerprints scanner
dunno the reason.
anyways not seeing any improvement in speed or anything than kenneth 4.5beta
will download the ninja. today
but saw that it replaces our CWM with one that doesnt read external sd and also doesnt wipe data!!

shud i go ahead???

did you wipe your dalvik cache and full wipe.
I am also on cherryblur 1.2 and i did not face any reboots and its so far behaving excellent,not loosing wifi connections and faster overall.

did you 'Fix permissions' from cwm>advanced ?
 
im on 1.1 and battery is just all over the place, will flash 1.2 today and calibrate and see how that works for me. But overall GB is really great, couldnt get better.
