Great news for Atrix owners... Unlocked...

We have quite a few Atrix owners in here! Nice! Planning to flash either 1.2 or Ninja tonight!

Btw, Koush is also supposedly working on CM7 port for Atrix! SamCripp and AliasXerog have a working kernel for CM7 with a few quirks! Hopefully, we will have some good news in few weeks!
 
Some quick observations about cherryblur.

It runs fantastic fast.battery lasted 8hrs or so in performance mode and whole day connected to wifi.

It still has GSM part messed up as AT&T stock firmware. It looses connection to GSM every now and then and same sim in Samsung gives full network coverage and this signal loss is almost every 3 hrs or so.

Wifi is rock solid.

Whole day it did not loose connection even once and 8ts connected to same router as before.

So far happy with cherry blur.just need to get stock theme.

Im nt facing any connectivity issues with 1.1a

Modem is 0.1.87 on this one.

Try n see if issue persists after reboot.

There are more than one teams working on CM7 and one of them is the cynoTeam is what i gather from randoms posts from devs.

This baby is out for a roll now :D

^^Try to change network to "GSM Only" using *#*#4636#*#*!

Edit: Wow, I had some real bad GSM disconnection issues since past hours and just read few mins back that Idea has launched 3G in Mumbai in association with Airtel/Vodafone! I switched to "GSM Only" using the above and it works fine for me now!

In cherryblur rom,you can select that as any other android.

Its already in 2g mode.

But call quality does not worsen.I think its just signal reporting issue.

I was roaming all over in my home while talking. phone dropped signal from 3bars to 1bar but still call quality did not suffer.so I guess we can ignore it as of now.

Regarding 3g,do post your review of speed on idea 3g.its going to be either vodafone or Airtel network in Mumbai.

Both advertise 21mbps 3g.see how much you get.

I tried docomo 3g in nasik, it was locked at 500 kbps. Tried many time but it never went beyond 500.kbps not KBps.
 
Madnav, I guess you use reliance 3g.how much speed you get on their superior 3g.they started those adverts comparing.

i use their edge plan.

Gives me 150-200kbps on speedtest.net and 200-256kbps on downloads.

I didnt opt for 3G as I already spent on bandwidth, most of the times all is done via wifi. and edge speed is enough for me to use gtalk, tapatalk, browser, maps etc.

although the speeds were awesome when I had free hspa+

speeds were in 6-10mbps range :D

@ madnav - Buddy , i am interested in buying one Atrix 4g for myself .

Can u update me regarding prices and availability ??

I would prefer a local deal . Delhi preferable .

Or if any other seller in mumbai , chennai , then his reliability and price update ( min to min possible )
 
i bought mine for 480 usd box pack and new.got it shipped over aramex and it costed 2000 for customs clearnace and 40 usd for unlock.

around 1 week for seller shipment to reach aramex ny and another week to reach mumbai.

hope this helps.

one issue i faced is customs people.its their assessment of phone which seals the customs duty.

even if your invoice is of 200 usd,still they will charge duty on value they assess.

another headache i had was unlocking.

first unlock code did not work so had to use phone as no phone.

Has to buy another code from cell unlock guys.it came after 3-4 days.

so in all 1 week wasted in unlock saga.
 
Anubhav, you want one immediately or you willing to wait? I have an Atrix that I bought in April and made the mistake of shipping it through USPS - 42% was the supposed duty to be charged. I requested for Return to Sender and its now on its way back.

Have ordered my 2nd Atrix now shipped through Aramex SnS. If you can wait, I'll sell one of them as soon as I get the returned one - condition of both are as good as new.

And unlocking costs 17.5$ at UnlockUSA - a reliable site. Think that is the cheapest among the known and reliable ones

Might be around the same since with customs the price does hike considerably. And fyi, I paid 500$ in April and still waiting for that phone to get to me :P

Though I cannot sell it for even close to that much :lol:

And however reputed the seller maybe, don't think its a good idea to take the direct payment route to save a few hundred or a thousand bucks!
