I have a laptop with a dead batt. connected only for downloads (desidhamal, h33t, 1337). By downloads i mean 24/7 365days. I have a 6x1 TB NAS for movies / songs connected to a > media device to > TV & Music system

I have BB Home Combo UL 750 ~ 512kbps(Kilobits) ~ 62.5 KiloBytes/sec ~ 3.6 Megabytes /min ~ 5.1 GB / Day(24hr) ~ 154 GB /Month(30day)

Approx. 150 GB /Month(30day) @ Rs. 750 + TAX ~ Rs. 827 (correct way to capture what you pay for)

Plus/Minus 4GB or 8GB @ this/that speed does not make sense to me... correct me if I am wrong !!

^ dude how do you browse when you download at full speed. Dont your downloads max out your bandwidth. 130+ GB per month is awesome. I tried but only hit 103GB.

you can check here for exact data transfer http://selfcare.sdc.....sdc.bsnl.co.in (works well on IE)

BTW guys is there any news from BSNL regarding plan revisions? Saw a thread on TDF . Is that true ?

^Is that Pan India ?

Link says Karnataka.bsnl.co.in .. hence asking.

And what non sense by BSNL.. no upgrade to Rs 750/- plan ?

This way it ll make more sense for people to shift to BB Home Combo ULD 900.

Already struggling to hold back customers and this scheme .. when ll BSNL grow a brain.

I expect that this info is going to be true across India. It might be implemented in certain circles first, but should be available everywhere. Some telecom blogs have had information about the upgrade for sometime. They have mentioned that BSNL will start implementing the changes to certain circles first, with the rest of the circles to follow before March.

There is also news (on some blogs, so not "official") that BSNL is introducing a new plan at the 750/- price point. ULD 750 (as opposed to UL 750). 1 Mbps till 6GB, 512 Kbps after. Ya, so not the best upgrade.

Sometimes I think BSNL makes up new plans without checking what they are already offering. E.g. the 850 plan, which gives 2 Mbps till 8GB, then 512 Kbps. Why would anyone take that, when, for a meager 50/- per month more, you can get 4 Mbps till 8GB + 512 Kbps after?

With 2 Mbps 8GB is done and dusted in 12 hours, with 4 Mbps in 6 hours. Makes no difference really. I would rather just get the 750 plan. When will they realize that people don't buy unlimited plans to download only 6-8GB per month? It offers next to no incentive.
