Hitler is the epitome of oration and leadership. A small country like Germany under his leadership achieved greatness whether for good or bad. There is a lot to learn from Hitler, both the good things and the dangers.

I think many young folks appreciate his leadership but really don't get the meaning of those symbols. When you're fascinated, It's hard easy to ignore the dark side of Hitler's policies and what his leadership actually stood for. I agree with others that there have been far worse genocides but it does not make Hitler's actions any less barbaric.

Hitler was able to do what he did as he had crushed all opposition. I hope that folks appreciate that is not possible to lead in that manner in a democracy but it's probably for our own good.

Anyway this obsession will most likely amount to nothing. Let's put it down to a phase of youth perhaps?...or having extra time on your hands. Maybe they will feel different in the years to come. It's not like these guys will get a chance to implement some of his policies :P.

I read in some one's signature..

"It does not take balls to be brave..
Hitler had only one.."

Hail him for that..
@viralbug..
your raavan example is spot on..
he is still idolized for being a scholar...

Its saddening that young minds who dont know $hit make statements like "Hail hitler".

One trip to Auschwitz and I literally cried realizing the kind of decimation that had been done there.

Nothing and I mean nothing gives anyone the right to carry out such a genocide on such a large scale.

Again, these are my personal views.

once again, millions died during partition, but as you say that it was for a cause, so was this, & yes i had been to polland & saw all that concentration camps.

i do know $hit buddy, i do !!

nothing personal

Dumbest comparison ever.

Do we glorify jinnah?

I am not even going to go into this, a nation was born due to parition, what good came out of all the anti-semetism and the holocaust?

Armchair pundits, d0h.

Guys, do remember that Hitler masterminded and lead a mass genocide. If the target ethnicity/group had been affiliated to India, views would have been drastically different here. I personally can never say the words "H*** Hi***", or sport the Nazi logo.

How could you be in awe of a man who has literally massacred thousands of people, is just beyond me...
Simple, its an inferiority complex playing itself out.

Your typical young person is a grunt, he/she has no power whatsoever and is under more senior ppl ie parents or employers.

I see this admiration as a thirst to be more powerful amongst the mostly powerless :)

Course once these ppl realise how ruthless they have to be, to actually become powerful the admiration stops, usually a decade or two later.

It's something like those clueless guys at my college who used to wear Che shirts. :P
Maybe they should watch a documentary i saw on fox history the other day about how dictatorial he was during Castro's rise to power.

Clueless is the correct term to use here. Its mostly cherry picking what they like or desire and either innocently or wilfully ignoring the other side of the coin.

What next, a Mahmud Of Ghazni fan club? lol. Wouldnt surprise me if someone came up with that, clueless internet warriors.

@blr_p: QFT!

Do you know that a majority of what the medical world knows about the brain, brain related problems/diseases, drugs and a lot of other medical advancements were the result of studies done on humans during Hitlers regime..
Care to substantiate ?

How do you even begin to quantify it.

Do you know that a majority of technological development all over the world including the development of electronics and computers would have happened so fast had it not been for Hitler and his regime.
War has always been a catalyst for tech development. You could say the cold war achieved the same with the race to the moon. So this does not put Hitler ahead, he's just one of many triggers.

Do you know that a majority of Indians (North Indians) are believed to have roots in the Aryan race, the same race that Hitler belonged to, considered superior was so obsessed about glorifying..
'Out of Africa' pretty much laid this theory to rest.

We're all Africans :P

Do you know that Subhas Chandra Bose regarded as a one of our great freedom fighters was in league with Hitler when fighting the British.
So what ?

As for the Nazi symbol you are talking about. You should read up on it here

Yes, we can blame him for twisting a sign of goodwill into the opposite.

He was a good speaker because he played to ppl's weakness, as mentioned by someone else in an epoch where there wasn't that much competition to begin with. The seeds for Hitler to come to power were sown in the Treaty of Versailles. Note the difference in treatment post WW2 of axis powers compared to WW1.

List it out.

So you'd be alright with Hitler giving someone like Clauberg the authority to perform medical experiments on your mum?

The circumstances that allowed Hitler to gain power happened because of a political deadlock. The major politicians of that period were untolerated by the Reichstag, and the president was having to appoint chancellors by decree, rather than by election. Hitler, however, had declined power unless it came under his conditions – effective total control.

Hitler did win the election tho.

Irelevant.

All those praising Hitler. Please give this a read. I would place Hitler #1, in the top 10 evils of the last 100 years.

Am sure, many were not aware. Most probably think that he killed a few thousand Jews/ethnic Europeans, led a war, did some experiments.

Please, do look at the death-toll grids.
