I long for the days of hung parliament and bickering politics but I guess big money now has a stranglehold on the parliament.
 
I guess with the economy in a downward spiral, with the twin attacks of demon... and GST, devaluing the rupee will boost their coffers. This current high of petrol rates in spite of low global crude is also precisely for that.
 
India is in control of purely vested interests these days.

No credible opposition, since they know once people are through with part1, they've no option than to vote for party2. We need better national parties.

Big businesses clandestinely controlling govt. policies...

People who are hooked to their jobs that they cannot afford to protest. Those who want to protest, do that over internet and feel satisfied that their part is done.

^^ you missed people who actually protest and are heard end up shot dead in broad daylight. And their reputations further tarnished even once dead.

There is no conspiracy when we say business controls politics, which used to happen for a long time. Remember Neera Radia?, we are yet to see the new ones, may be we will not be able to see them...
There is no conspiracy when we say that public are not able to massively protest for their rights unlike as earlier because they are hooked as wage slaves (farming is not a sustainable money earner for commoners now, so not much free time) and use internet as a venting forum which does not have much real world impact.

Clarity of arguments of course needs to be toned better.

Our arguments don't mean jack when the entire system is flawed and all political parties are basically just different flavours of the same soup. Just that some are more ruthless in the implementation of their regimes.

To bring about the change needed requires extremely drastic action, like civil war or something on the lines of musharraf's coup (of course we know where that ended though), none of which are really gonna happen in india. The sad reality is that only violence brings about real change and people who think Gandhi's non-violence is what worked are probably missing the wider story.

And the whole business-politics thing, let's just say in that one aspect we are now on par with the US. And even though they're in a bad state right now, they still have some of their liberty and freedom remaining.

They have plenty of time till the next elections to film and market their next blockbuster. Housefull chalega.
 
Maybe Modi will become a martyr. He has always seemed to be a very effective but disposable puppet to me.
 
From his 'biographies' seems pretty ruthless and consistently eliminating his rivals. The party has never been able to control or punish him. So being a martyr doesn't exactly fit his M.O. Funny thing happening now is everyone is blaming Jaitley in the media. They've thrown him under the bus while not a single person has blamed Modi or even the party leadership. So looks like Jaitley could be the fall guy pretty soon.
 
Sometimes you have to take a side and say wrong is wrong. Being PC all the time is what has got first world countries into all the $hit they're currently in.

There's no harm in calling Modi a feku if it's true especially when people keep calling RaGa a pappu...

Not "people", just the sanghis have given that term to him, where as feku was given by common man of india.
