41-50k How to get RPTech invite for buying FE GPU?

Yeah the vRAM on these cards isn't proportional to the rasterization horsepower. And it makes no sense to have 12GB on a 3060. It would also result in more heat because GDDR6X has a operating temperature threshold of 105ºC.
Lastly lot of players confuse allocated vRAM with dedicated vRAM used by engine. As per my testing with a German friend who has 3090 on 4K res:
  1. SOTR = Allocated (7857 MB), Dedicated in use (6540 MB)
  2. RDR2 = Allocated (5939 MB), Dedicated in use (4274 MB)
  3. Metro Exodus = Allocated (6225 MB), Dedicated in use (4520 MB)
  4. Horizon Zero Dawn= Allocated (12254 MB), Dedicated in use (10913 MB)
  5. GTA5= Allocated (6207 MB), Dedicated in use (2718 MB)
  6. BFV= Allocated (7342 MB), Dedicated in use (5570 MB)
  7. Valhalla= Allocated (7763 MB), Dedicated in use (5629 MB)
  8. Cyberpunk = Allocated (8278 MB), Dedicated in use (6608 MB)
Plus the developers are now looking for innovative ways to replicate 3D rendering using AI reducing the need for complex load cells and hardware requirements due to budget constraints for AAA games, time and hardware efficiency required in cloud gaming.

Strongly agreed although the 3060/3060Ti/3070 do not have GDDR6X so temps is not a concern there.
As for VRAM I still think at 1440p or below 8GB is fine for a long time and yes, allocated vs actual use many are confused and think it needs more. 8GB is still fine for most gaming cases.

Correct. I mentioned the GDDR6X issue for the top end cards. And not sure if they will keep it for other upcoming variants. Temps have no issue in performance since they can support higher temperatures but it can become a nuisance for overall system. Think sticking with GDDR6 is fine.

Yes, I have 3070ti and I see that. Memory easily reaches 100°c as reported by gpu-z.

I also applied for RTX 3060 Ti last week
When can I expect an invite?
Next month or?
Very strongly "or."
Looks like 3070ti and 3080ti are ahead since June requests are being fulfilled while 3060ti is still in Feb. If lucky, after 6 months or more.

Yeah people freak out seeing 100ºC but it's fine. They're running as per their spec operating temperature but it would still affect the delta of the GPU and heat inside system. And that is the reason why NVIDIA chose to spend a lot on founder edition's heatsink. They're not cheap and Jensen is not happy to give it to us for the said MSRP.

Yeah. You can feel the heft and quality on the fe cards heatsink.

Exactly what I say to people who complain about high memory temperatures on those cards. They throttle at 110C so running around 100C is fine. Perhaps the manufacturers could have used quality thermal pads but they used the same which they used with GDDR5X/6 so that's why people are freaking out.

I think besides GPU sag there is no issue. So a vertical GPU bracket or a support should be used with bigger cards using 6X.

Also there are rumours that NVIDIA has started hoarding chips and stopped manufacturing in October to keep up the prices. So I think the last quarter a lot of orders won't be fulfilled until the start shipping in 2022. Could force their hand if Intel release alchemist in Q1, 22. Nvidia also seems to be bullying AIBs to provide inferior cooling solution and not give same model brand name to Intel.

So, lets say I want to get a RTX 3060/ 3060 Ti and put in an Enquiry on RPTech today... chances are I won't be getting the card anytime before next Christmas?
Edit: If you mean 2022 Christmas, yeah you'd almost certainly get it. Rn the queue is in Feb

There's no FE version of 3060 so it's only 3060ti. If you enquire today, your chances of getting it before Christmas is *zero*.

Unless nvidia decides to send in a shit ton of stock to RPTech (which won't happen).

You might have a little better luck with 3070ti and 3080ti.

Yeah 3060 Ti is the most demanded card because of price: performance ratio. There's no transparency on how much stock they get and how many people have booked.
Think at some point they will even stop taking orders/enquiries.

I have booked a 3080 in November, 2020 and have visited Shiv temple every Monday. Still waiting.

I am praying to Lord Venkateswara Swamy every day for 3060ti

The gods have forsaken us it seems.

My earliest enquiry for a 3070 Ti was late August (either 24 or 27), and my earliest for a 3060 Ti was early February. As of one week ago: for 3060 Ti they replied saying November orders are being fulfilled, and for 3070 Ti they said they are out of stock, despite me seeing posts of people showing off their 3070 Ti cards the very same week. Have sent another email a short while ago enquiring about the 3070 Ti stock status, let's see.
Their "queue" system should be renamed to "kyu" (why) system - "kyu mile tumhe card?" (why should you get a card)

However, most of the cards I see are in wrong hands. Day in day out I see OLX ads with brand new fe cards 1.5 times the value paid marked hhr.... And here no one wants to exchange my 3070ti for 3080 as I need vram, just cos people think I want hhr card. Lol
