You have the phone and not using it?? Oh... how can you :no:vebk said:Hehyes and no!
I have still not put my sim card in it and started using it as a phone as I had to figure out how to get contacts out of my elcheapo nokia phone. I was finally able to do that yesterday. Now I am waiting for the invisible shield that's supposedly en route from the States, and only then would I want to take it out. I am too paranoid about scratches. So I will only write a review then!

vpraveenis said:4" itself makes it too big to carry around for me... 4.3" no way!
3.5" would be perfect... but 3.7" is the max screen size most i will be willing to have on a mobile phone....
Oooooooooh yeah!!! superb! Will try it out today.nfsnfs said:2.2 now available. Any one updated please report here.

our phone will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Build number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.13.720.1. Update: Android 2.2 and HTC Sense update. Note:Please back up your data first before upgrading your phone. We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply.
Heyy...So you are basically using it, but not carrying it out with you. Good then. I thought you have kept it locked in its box and sitting beside like a saint trying to overcome the "desire" to use it....vebk said:Heh, I know, I know. I have been using it at home for e-mail etc. and downloading a shit load of apps. But yes, still waiting on the invisible shield and case to arrive so I can be reasonable assured I am not going to **** up the phone in a week!
Can you hold and use it with one hand? I mean texting and all basic navigation stuff on the phone holding it securely in one hand? I'm still a little apprehensive about one handed usage..And I agree with vpraveenis - while a large screen is sweet in some regards (browsing etc.) in day to day usage 3.7" hits the sweet spot. I can still manage the phone with one hand without fumbling. This is not to say that one would mind a larger screen (after all I was considering the Dell Streak at one point) but to put in another way, I don't feel let down by having a 3.7" screen as opposed to a 4" or 4.3" screen
Hmmm.. suggest you hold on a little and completely use the 2.1 Only then you can feel the real difference between the 2.1 and 2.2. Once it's released, it's going to be there any time you need... so test the waters with 2.1 and jump into 2.2 a little laterOooooooooh yeah!!! superb! Will try it out today.
vebk said:As for one handed usage, yeah you can use it. You can even type a message, but it will be slow. Two handed typing in landscape mode ftw though.
nfsnfs said:@vebk , could you upload the update.zip file to some location please ? .
I neither have a wifi or data plan at the moment . :ashamed:
I think it is OTA_Bravo_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.13.707.1-1.19.707.7_releaseqlw7i8khq800xrzk.zip
I enquired @ poorvika (near kodambakkam) and they quoted 27.2K all inclusive. But no live models to checkBoot_Comp said:Just checked Univercell (Chennai). They are quoting 28K (including tax etc.).
Went there to seee a demo piece but that would take another week they said. Right now only selling boxed product.
Are the other prices mentioned here including tax? And are the phones the newly released (in India) model?
Dude , its been 3 weeks since the HTC Desire is offically launched in INDIA .Its between 26.5 - 27 K with bill and vat .Boot_Comp said:Any cheaper prices of HTC Desire (once launched officially I mean)?
