Well the phone costs 105-110$... Lol...

LOL nice one!

chk out the price: HTC One V - HTC: Flipkart.com (gsm)

Sorry guys, i didn't know that.

Ok so if I have to buy, what are the steps to be done(precisely in most easiest n cheapest way)

If i m correct, you guys are expert(in tech/trading) so u r aware of most of pitfall situation.

I am asking because I have never traded with any international seller/courier + No a/c with paypal or International CC.

& Last but not least, steps mentioned by varkey above just swooshed over my head.

^ The lowest price for the One V on eBay.com is around $90. You can get it through iShopInternational and pay in INR with your debit card / netbanking. If you can find a listing for $90, it will come to approx Rs 6000 all incl shipped to your door. After that you need to spend Rs 500 for getting the MEID registered and if you can program it yourself final price will be Rs 6500.

If the steps are difficult you can get it done though someone who would charge maybe about Rs 500 for it.

Just got the phone from my friend.
Which carrier do you think is better Reliance or tata docomo??
Tata has a much simpler meid registration process I think...

How TATA is doing this.

  • TATA dont use RSN type Funda to Generating Dummy RSN is not Required at all.
  • Just Reset SPC to 000000.
  • Load Proper PRL using Approprite Software like QPST, CDMA Workshop or in Windows Based Phone we could Dial ##PST# and load PRL from Memory Card.
  • Catch TATA Network then and Dial *228 to Switch your Number from Old Handset to new Foreign ESN / MEID Handset using ICC (Insta Change Card)

You sure about that? Can you link me to the post?

AFAIK, TATA is not accepting foreign MEIDs. Even the sellers charge more for getting the MEID registered on TATA.

I meant the specific post.

And do check the date of that topic, TATA was earlier accepting foreign MEIDs easily, but have stopped now.

Its the first post only...
Just checked the posting date, guess outdated info.

So which operator do you suggest.
Is the extra cost of tata registration justified??

The Rs 94 plan from Reliance is awesome, I don't think TATA has a similar plan and Reliance's network is pretty good too.

Woah!!! awesome plan
1gig a month of EVDO for 6 months just for 94 bucks is too good.

Then reliance zindabad:yahoo:

How much time did tarun kabra take to register in the database???
Local guy said he will even include programming for 700 bucks

^ Lol, the post in which I had mentioned the plan details was right above your initial post and you didn't notice it? :P

I got few MEIDs registered through him, maximum 3 days, minimum few hours. :)

Didn't notice it

Programming is simple only I guess, looking at your previous posts. So better to get it done through kabra itself..
Did u face any issue while programming??

There is not much use of getting your MEID registered with Tata if don't live in Delhi-NCR. First it is costlier to get MEID registered then there is the fact that Tata Indicom is trying to close its network outside of Delhi-NCR. What more, it is really hard to configure Tata EVDO with all the proxy settings and things like that. If these issues were fixed then Tata is better than Reliance anyday.
@dinjo: This phone is from Virgin Mobile US which is a subsidiary of Sprint which is a CDMA operator. Ofc it is CDMA handset, but you can find the GSM version in India but here it is a middle range phone and will cost you around 16K(?).
