Really?..wow! Thanks so much!

And don't worry, if 16GB is 12-15k, 32GB won't be more than 18-20k.

Go for it man!

Show me a device more powerful and innovative than this one right now . .

Can you name one innovation in iPhone 4 except may be for the inclusion of a gyro sensor? All I see are evolutionary changes some of which have already been available in other phones. Innovation is not a term that should be used in such a loose manner. If those evolutionary changes count has innovations, then there are many in competitive phones. All mobile phone developments in the past 8 years are of an evolutionary nature only.

BTW did anyone notice Samsung Galaxy tablet?
Yeah, its going to be nothing more than an over sized Galaxy S. Personally, I am waiting for the Tegra 2 tablets (especially Adam) to hit the market.

-The hardware is at par or slightly better than phones already on the market, in 6 months time there will be tons of phones bettering it.

That argument might make a lot of sense for someone buying a phone 6 months down the line( when there will be better choices to choose from) but not now. There will always be a better product 6 months down the line.If you think on those lines you will never buy any product...be it a tv , phone, computer, etc, etc. After a while maybe there will be fold-able displays. And then maybe something else.If you choose to wait , you w'll end up waiting for ever. And what difference does it make whether apple brings out a phone every one year or every other month like HTC?? It's not like you are gonna buy a new phone every month. Most buy a new one once every two years or so.Infact it's a good thing apple brings out only one phone a year so that it can concentrate on that single phone( unlike HTC which churns out a new phone every month and pretty much forgets it the next month. How many of your android phones are upgradable to the next android version?? Many are still stuck in version 1.6.Atleast iphone users aren't forced to buy a new phone to enjoy features of the new version of the OS.

it's not possible to come up with a revolutionary device every year. The original iphone was revolutionary/innovative.All high end phones since then incl. the android ones built by HTC have been aping iphone----not only the hardware but also the software !!

Thing is people expect just too from Apple and their products. They would praise/like their products only if they are leaps and bounds ahead by all other products in every aspect and maintain that lead for at least an year. Only then would it be truly "innovative" for them. Innovative features is a good thing but perfecting them is entirely another and equally creditable. E.g. An decent electric car today might travel, say, 100kms in one charge and attain a speed of 100kms at max. But that's not enough and only if it is able to travel, say 500kms, in one charge and attain speed upto 150kms, would people be interested in it! (take figues just as raw example). This is the difference between innovating something and then perfecting it!

I feel sad that people hardly recognize the importance of perfection.

For some people it won't matter how long Apple could maintain the lead. Even if no phone comes close to it for say another year, people would still say, Android will beat the crap out of iphone by next year! For them it's just whether Android can beat iPhone at any point of time no matter when!

LMAO  Are you out of your mind? :noob:

This device will cost upwards of Rs. 45k in the Indian grey market. 12k for a Latest Gen iPhone... :ohyeah: It is indeed the 'MOST PATHETIC JOKE OF THE CENTURY'

BTW... Where would all those corbyz and cookiez go if iPhone 4 is launched for 12k bucks...?? :P

iPhone 3GS 8GB upto 20k

iPhone 4 32GB 35k

Yup. Android phones most likely will NEVER "beat" iPhones. They seem to be catering to totally different markets. It's like comparing Apples and Oranges (pun not intended). I didn't know anything about Android but after picking up an HTC Legend, I couldn't be more happy with it. However, if i gave it to my mom, I'm certain she'd be clueless. iPhones are smartphones for the non techie people and should be treated that way. It's pointless trying to find iPhone killers. Apple's marketing is over the top most of the time but they really do back it up with solid products. If the iPhone was really shitty (not comparing it to other phones on the market), they wouldn't get very far but as it stands, it is a great phone in its own right. I'm getting tired of these comparisons tbh.

Yea, it's getting boring these comparisons. Irrespective of whether one likes the iPhone or not, it sells bloody well. And that doesn't make any difference whatsoever to people either praising or complaining about Apple, other than a precious waste of time. If you like it, buy it, if you don't, ignore it. I preferred to do the latter.

Gyro sensor is one and the retina display is the other(although the name itself is stupid).I can just think of how much research and development would have gone in developing this.
While 'innovation' might not be a bang-on term for whatever i wanted to put forward but the idea of perfecting the technology and making it so that it can be put to use in a real-world scenario is the deal.

If Apple or any other company can make the . .say speech as a text input method which is very accurate(not like the what half-cooked is offered in microsoft windows or other application), then it would be no less than an innovation for me.

Everything you wanted to know about the iphone => Hands-on Preview / Pricing / Availability

Apple has once again shown how important it is to market a product, , on a performance to price ratio, the iPhone is beaten by most smart phones. But think about it how many smartphones christined their display retinaeye ? Nokia and other companies have been using the body of the phones to boost signal strength, but nobody knew this could be done untill Apple did it. Though there are people who want to undermine Apple's efforts, but the truth stands that Apple has produced a gadget that has had the entire world stand up on its feet and gaze in amazement.

Even though the iPhone4 is functionality/visually 80% similar to the iPhone 3GS, the aura has blinded us. Think about it, if Nokia was to launch the successor to the 5800 ...faster processor, newer display technology and similar form factor..90% of the crowd here would be complaining about the lack of newness in the design.

Methinks this is what the iPhone product portfolio in India will be

iPhone 3G 8GB 29K
iPhone 3GS 16GB 35K
iPhone4 32GB 42K

once the stocks of the Iphone 3G clear it will be
iPhone 3GS 16GB 32K
iPhone4 16GB 37K
iPhone4 32GB 42K

and methinks the iPhone 4 should be launched in Q4 in India

what I am really waiting to watch is
which of you guys is going to get the first iPhone4 in TE (NRI)
which of you guys is going to get the first iPhone4 in TE (India)

and finally I am keeping a close eye on the prices of the 3GS on craiglist

Have you noticed that the new iPhone has a less width like 3.5mm ? It will be better for holding. In fact, they should have got to 16:9 but they won't do that because that wouldn't be invention. :|

@abbY: I'm getting two of these, sure as hell... but the only thing I'm going to wait for this time is unlocked pieces from HK Apple Store. Over the time, I have realized that there are hardly any Jailbroken applications that I'm using and waiting for unlock is way too much pain in the neck. Also, I have experienced the instability of JB'ed phone first-hand couple of times so I think it's much more peace of mind to get unlocked one. It's going to be really sad story to get iPhone 4 in India as gray market dealers are going to milk it for first few weeks... just like overpriced iPads. Only those who want bragging rights would buy iPhone 4 at exorbitant Indian gray market prices. :)

We might get the Iphone 4 either in July or September .

It has been announced also by Steve Jobs in his keynote speech that it would be released in June 24 in stores in U.S., France, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom. By the end of September, it will be available in 88 countries.

Now Telegraph says that Vodafone Essar might get it in India by July .
