iPhone outsells entire Microsoft

Why are people getting so excited over a company's revenue figures? Unless you're an investor, I really don't see the reason why everyone is getting a b***r

Respect apple for what they have done rather than making this as apple fanboy vs apple haters fight...

Steve Jobs (not Apple) deserves a lot of credit not only for selling lousy products to millions of people for decade and a half (mind you Apple products from the 80's were not lousy), but also for making them believe that what they were buying the best there is. There is no doubt that that he is one of the most noteworthy people of his time, but sadly people don't give him credit for what he is (the greatest marketing and business genius of the century) and often give him credit for something he never was (inventor/innovator).

^^ Agreed... No Apple w.o Steve jobs.. He had done an incredible job and led apple in such a way that it can sustain for more years to come...

One of the well respected CEO's of this century.. Hope someone follow his path and turn around the whole world..

Those are surely "magical" figures

Damn fellas, THEY are the ones making money. Learn from them. Make some money yourself and buy whatver the **** you want.

Apple knows marketing way better than other companies and no denying that. IF the numbers are true, then kudos to them!

I have to say that if Apple is somehow able to convince millions of people to buy an inferior product, as some posts in this thread might suggest, then the joke's clearly on Microsoft and Google.

When your device doesn't get signal and the company's owner comes out and says people do not how to hold a phone. What more insult do the customers want to see.

No doubt apple fanbois follow their leader as if they do not have any self respect.

I can count them in the dumbs round the world

If there are no dumbs in the world, then there won't be any apple/steve jobs

Well, there is no doubt that Apple has been successfully selling mediocre products though marketing alone. If Microsoft or Google had released the the exact same tablet or phone that Apple did, then they would have flopped utterly. Even the best of technology would flop without appropriate marketing and even the most mediocre stuff can be sold successfully with appropriate marketing. Only a heavily marketing centric company like Apple can afford to push mediocre products and still manage to sell them with great marketing. Most companies are following suit and even otherwise, there is a reason why companies like these only devote 20~30% of their budgets for the technology and innovation and over 60% for marketing.

I know many guy's whose iPads are gathering just simply for the reason that they find no particular reason to use them. So why exactly did they buy one in the first place. Its not because they needed them, its simply because of how they were brilliantly marketed as a magical device. Often people bought them and tried to justify the purchase by trying to find uses for them. As a every day technology user, I do find the need for a portable device like a tablet appropriate, but none of the tablets in the market meet my basic requirements that I need them for and iPad least suitable of them and it is so for a lot of people, but people still buy them due to the way they are marketed as a 'magical device'. People often repeat the marketing manta of iPad being magical, but ask them specify how exactly they use the device and what makes it magical and most people would not be able to put worth a couple of ways that they use it and that makes it magical, but instead they would dumbly repeat the marketing mantra that its just magical. That is what marketing can do.

Just to give another example of how marketing works, just look at Retina Display. LG like many other companies was working on small size high resolution displays for a while and Apple happened to use it in their iPhone 4. Instead of just saying that they use a high res display, they created a marketing buzz word Retina Display and got people hyped about Apple over technology that they had nothing to do with. High res displays are great, but it is nothing special as many companies have been working on demonstrating such high resolution displays. But by attaching a marketing buzz word, they created hype among people half of whom don't even know what DPI means. That is how their marketing works in selling their products.

To add to Lord.

"If you don't have an iPhone you don't have an iPhone."

Bloody shit i would never like to have an iPhone.I would like to have powerful device rather than holding on to a piece of shit.

Still dumbs would come to you and say "If you don't have an iPhone you don't have an iPhone."

What they can do with their iPhone and others can't, only god knows.

When corporations get more powerful then entire countries, its always bad news.

Also the proof that major population is actually just sheep.

1.Apple makes mediocre products.

2.Only fools buy iphones.

3.Android is the king of mobile o.s

4.Google is GOD.

So suck on whatever god has

given us in the name of Android.

Happy now!!

I have just one request...

please do ask your God to make a 100% reliable Alarm Clock for His next Android release.

There are at least 100 different alarm clocks in the market;I must be extremely unfortunate not to find a single 100% reliable one!!

I am writing this from a 30k Android giant which boasted itself as THE BEST smartphone ever not too long ago, failed to wake me up last Saturday and I missed my morning flight.

I thought i.o.s was bad;God!!This Android is the most overhyped thing in the universe.

Hundreds of keyboards with hundreds of faults;thousands of launcher to suck the battery life a thousand ways.

Millions of apps but you will search on for months for a reliable email client.

Millions of 3d games, but the battery barely lasts a couple of hour of calls over 3g.

Exciting indeed!!

Does it make you any happier?

You really do believe this don't you, about Apple selling lousy products? Pointless to discuss this any further.

Of course Apple's achievement is just phenomenal.

Actually its true, what Lord Nemesis has mentioned. If you go over the Appleverse, you will find out everything.

It is not just a matter of belief. Having been a Mac developer and having tried/used a variety of their products (G4/G5 based Power Macs, various iMacs, Mac Pro, Mac Book Pro, Mac OS 9 to OS X Lion, iPods, iPhones, iPads) at work over a period of 7 years, that is indeed the conclusion I have arrived at from my personal experiences. Unibody MBP is the greatest product that Apple has bought out in the last 15 years. So yes, it is indeed pointless to tell me otherwise.

And yeah Apples sales achievement may be phenomenal, but it doesn't make their products any less mediocre.

Well, I guess you are the expert then.

I'm only a dumb consumer, but I have not used a desktop better than an iMac, a laptop better than the Air, a MP3 player better than the ipod.

The ipad for me is great but yes, it needs some work arounds. Have not used an iPhone more than playing around with it, but after seeing other Apple products, I have a sneaking suspicion that I might very well prefer it to my Android, but I'm too cheap to splurge for an iPhone.

Not every user will root his phone and install custom roms and other stuff.

IOS out of the box is the best OS in the market right now . When Android comes and challenges that then we can talk .

When I buy my new mobile which comes with Android it just fails to impress me , on the other hand my IOS device works better .

PS: I have a Driod and IOS device.

^ Out of the box as in out of the box? I don't think iPhone comes with a lot of useful apps pre-installed. I might be wrong.
