Any of you had the battery drained almost completely at night ? Happened last night. Once before too. I put wifi/bluetooth etc off before going to bed. Next morning battery charge is slightly less than prev night. Twice the battery has almost completely drained off. No clue from Settings->Battery, it shows screen used 50% thats all.

install better battery stats..
and hope the problem recurs to find the culprit

[RUMOR] Motorola working on an even lower spec’d Moto G, could it be the $100 Nexus?

http://phandroid.com/2014/04/18/motorola-low-spec-moto-e-rumor/

"this unnamed phone (Moto E, perhaps?) will come in 3 slightly different variants (XT1021 with single SIM, XT1022 dual SIM, and XT1025 dual SIM with digital TV). If the Moto G wasn’t quite so low-end for you, this Moto G Lite drops them as far as anyone should be willing to go. Here’s a quick spec list:
4.3-inch display
1.2GHz dual-core processor
5MP camera
1GB RAM
4GB internal storage
1,900mAh
Android 4.4 KitKAt
"

"What does one get when sacrificing such specs? Apparently it's a Moto E with a body that's just 6.2mm thick. Yes, 6mm. The Moto G measures in at and retails for 2999 pesos (US$230) off contract. That makes the Moto G comparatively husky at 11.6mm."

@Doremon = If you are in a metro you would generally get the phone the next day. At least I did. You will need to hurry though. You ideally should have ordered it yesterday.

Motorola Moto G LTE And Moto G Ferrari In The Works

http://www.nextpowerup.com/news/8374/motorola-moto-g-lte-and-moto-g-ferrari-in-the-works.html

According to Xataka, a Mexican website, Motorola is working on two new Moto G variants. One of them is the Moto G LTE, which will pack LTE network support, obviously. The LTE model will come with 16 GB of internal storage and go on sale in Mexico this June for around $260. Internal specifications, apart from LTE connectivity, will most probably remain untouched.

Meanwhile, the Moto G Ferrari could possibly be a Ferrari-branded Moto G variant. Perhaps a new color scheme, exclusive themed covers, etc. Nothing that you couldn't live without. Xataka reports that the Moto G Ferrari will come in both 8 GB and 16 GB configurations.

Mee too like my Note 2 better anydays. Gave the MotoG to my Wife and she is just loving it and I get brownie points:)
BTW: u can get 12K for a 2 mnth used 16GB if maintained immaculately I guess
I guess I still prefer my NOTE II. How much can I expect for a two months old, 16GB version now?

Finally, ordered a Moto G 16GB. Should reach me on Monday.

I will be rooting straightaway. Any pointers? Any important threads on XDA that is not to be missed?

Also, please suggest a decent scratch guard. Is it really necessary? I will be getting a flip cover also..

If you are familiar with the process, no worries. Some stuff still doesn't work with status bar with Xposed but the dev has assured me that support will come in future versions.

Remember once you unlock the bootloader, your warranty would be void, as you would require to get unlock keys from Moto's site only. Read somewhere, once you ask for the code, even if you don't use it, the warranty is still void. So, it would be wiser to wait for a few days to check if there's any hardware issue that you have with your device before rooting.

This gets a lot of decent reviews: http://www.gadgetshieldz.in/?variants[]=93&product_id=619&dispatch[products.view]=Go and you can use their coupon (adw20) +payumoney to get it under Rs. 300.

Wow. Guess I will wait for a couple of weeks or a month before rooting then.

You have only yourself to blame. Unless you have a Developer Edition device, once you get the unlock code, your device is no longer covered by the Motorola warranty; in other words, please don't blame us if things go wrong, even if they appear unrelated to unlocking the bootloader.

But in EU, the manufacturer has to prove that unlocking the bootloader / rooting has caused the device to malfunction or else you get full 2 years of warranty :(

The sheer arrogance these tech companies have!! - How they hell do they provide warranty on Dev Edition devices - if it can run any software ?
Customers have become too accepting these days - the moment we start shaming and boycotting companies that behave like this, they will fall in line.

Needs consumer friendly laws like EU
