^^Its not an nv bug for sure. Its there on ATI as well cos it happened to me too and more than once. I learnt it the hard way that the best way to quit this buggy game is to alt+tab from the menu and kill the damn thing.
Maybe that's a new feature from EA - what innovation

The quitting problem stopped after I made another alias. So, give that a try. I have no logic to back up my theory though :P

u 4get 1 of the most badass tracks called autobahn.

there was no track that was bad in porsche. even normandi owned. not to mention the ownage factory mode single player which million times better than crappy ug races & getting chased by cops.

btw game quits fine for me. only had hung once & had to force restart when i did alt f4. so dint try it again.

Hehe autobahn owned... I once got a 2min 1sec in that track with a completely upgraded pigmy 911 Turbo :P

woah....that is an awesome time !! Will check my best and post it :P

@ MODS --- Can you please make a new thread titled NFS PORSCHE and shift all these OT posts there ??

Coz it looks like all of us are in love with that game and I dont think the discussions will stop here :P

@Stormy -- Reason I didnt mention some of the other tracks was because Cote D Azur was exceptional. I mean, beautiful. The scenery and all that.

and I loved Auvergne for the wide variety of tracks. You had so many different options to choose from.

I somehow didnt like the Monte Carlo tracks though. And Scharzwald. I hated that track. Never did well on that track.

@Chaos --- What do you mean pigmy 911 ??

^^ i liked the Monte carlo circuits :D ....... and factory driver was the best racing career mode i have ever played

Factory driver owned !! My only regret was that once you finished it, you couldnt go back and redo some ofn the better challenges (the ad campaign for one :D )

How Is The Carbon Menu? Can Some 1 Post Menu Screenshots And The Customisation Menu Also? Also Let Me Know How Many Dvd Game Is It And Dvd Size??

IMO NFS carbon is not tht good ..the gfx have improved...but yes as SHREY said ..there is too and too much of road, car and other refelctions. also the game just runs fine on My 6600gt golden sample.
on all max settings (4x aa)-it gives arnd 12 fps-very bad
on all high settings(2xaa)- it gives arnd 20 fps .and 27 fps with v sync off-.
on all medium settings-(2xaa)- it gives arnd 30 fps and 35 fps after turning v sync off.
i have not yet tried oc'in the 6600gt ..as it's golden sample i am thinking of oc'in it to arnd 540/975 from 500/900 .and i think there will be some improvement...also i have changed the swap size to arnd 600mb and this has also increased 2-3 fps.
one plus point about the game is ..there is no stuttering like it was in NFS MW. even on 512 mb of ram ..the game just runs fine...while there was lot off stuttering in MW regardless of low or high settings.
but the negative point again what i found was the game play is not that good..means i did not like the handling of the cars while drifting..and i am finding it very difficult to keep the ride away from the walls..just a press of right/left and the car completely skid or does a 180 !!!

Guys, I tried Carbon today and I get a steady 45-50fps with no FSAA, car details set to high, road/car reflection high, world detail low or medium, can't remember. Game plays very smooth (no stuttering whatsoever) and I love the added muscle in Carbon... played for 15-20 mins but my first impression is that handling of cars are not very different from MW, which I liked. Need to get used to the new menu but other than that I have no gripes about the game (yet!).

faheem, if you are having a difficult time keeping the car away from walls, it's a handling issue from your side I guess :D And don't complain about bad frames if you want to keep FSAA/vsync on and details set to high :P

don't change the directions rapidly ...... if u are too close to wall then make the steering straight/lift off the accelerator/use nos ..... using the steering to left/right will cause u instability .....

Seems like ur computer is based on P3... so ur system gets stuck so easily i play this game at around 70 fps at haigh quality and 1280*1024 resolution looks very cool and it takes mere half of a second to quit... which computer u r using plz upgrade ur pc and if u want any help upgrading ur pc visit Untitled-1.

Dragging is missing here, I loved draggin'.. Dragging with muscles wud had been gr8!! I dunno why EA, wen they adds one thing have to remove the other!!

All in all, this is one of the most easiest NFS's till date, absolutely no challenge watsoever!! For me NFS Porsche remains to be the best NFS game till now. I just loved the factory driver mode of that game!!

Eh where the hell did you see a P3 :S.

To get the best quality & fps, set the following ( for G70/71/73/X1000 series/6800 series)

Motion Blur--- OFF

Visual Treatment --- LOW

Filtering----of course AF

AA------2x/4x AA

Do this & see the difference. Motion blur & high visual treatment really sucks.

The roads become really clear & looks much better.

Try this out & post the feedback

I already had motion blur off and vis treatment low - that's how I was getting a steady 45 frames. Btw, what frames you getting with the 76GT?

at 1024 x 768 at 4x AA (nvidia control panel) and 4x AA (in game) and 4x AF (nvidia CP), I am gettin steady 50-60 FPS.

At times it drops to abt 30.

At least now, there is no stuttering when I hit NOS. Motion Blur off, Visual treatment low, shader high.

some one with a 6600gt and a similar config please post u r best working settings for this game ..please...i am not able to go beyond 25 fps even after setting AA-2X and most seettings to medium and road reflections-car reflection update to low ..maybe i will have to try putting vis. treatment ,motion blur and even v sync to low/off..but doing this totally removes thge charm and all the good effects of the game.

actually, you can reduce all settings nad only use AA and AF if you want.....hardly looks different.

well i will try tht too and post the results...yeah one more thing increasing the clock to 540/975 did improve the frame rate by arnd 3-5
and increasing the clock settings to 550/1 ghz led to some green coloured patches/artefacts in the games so i switched back to 540/975.
using the tweak ru's extreme drivers also helps a bit..!
