Don't say things like these.. some poor chap might actually believe you and buy it.

The phone does lag quite often period.
Not as much as as its predecessor but it does.
 
Ok update : Yeah got my first lag.

In teh phone's defence , i was running over 10 different apps downloading stuff to the phone , listening to music , games etc in the background. So i still think that in normal usage there will not be any lag.

Well, considering it has got a really slow processor, the phone generally feels pretty ok. But there are noticeable. And it's nowhere in comparison to Galaxy S (lag fix applied) which is lightening quick.

Yes, it would have been really good if Nokia had used 1Ghz snapdragon on N8. But their current CPU+GPU approach is not a bad effort.

You seem to forget that this is a phone that launched just yesterday...And you're comparing it with galaxy which has been in the market for sometime now..

Surely nokia will release many updates for N8..

@Dhruv- LOL, Even ur pc will go slow if it was doing all that :p

The phone does lag between applications, maybe for a fraction of a second but it maybe a transition thing. The ovi maps is very slow though.

As for Ovi Maps being slow, go try out the beta version 3.6 i think which is on the Nokia Betalabs website.
 
@dhruvrock2000 - I know this is a N8 thread, but would still like to point you to this comparison N8 Vs Desire

Checkout the last video on web-browsing. I dont have first hand experience with N8, but from what I see, the N8 needs more firepower under it's hood. 600Mhz is not enought for it. It will be interesting to see a comparison with the Legend since both have processor with similar speed, but I feel the legend will still be smoother..

N8 has a lot of features@ the price point, but it lacks in hardware. UI might be graphic accelerated in the N8 but the browser certainly isnt.

On a more personal note, the UI looks bland and very S60v5 like and that's pretty outdated.
