Eh ? Never been levied any octroi before even though most of my Amazon shipments come through Mumbai. o_O

Edit: I'm in Lucknow. Shipments normally go from Mumbai to Delhi to Lucknow.
 
Octroi/ lbt is not only for mumbai. Its for entire MH. In pune i have paid octroi for even items worth 50rs. Few exceptions are there like ratnagiri where octroi is not there.

Octroi only charged by dhl and fedex.. Especially if coming from abroad. Its included in duty invoice..

Have never faced octroi for domestic shipments even worth 30k..its only dhl/fedex who charge octroi..
 
@sarthakk250193 I am using CM 10.1 since the beginning ans I have not missed the stock ROM even one bit. Performance is as zippy as stock, sleep is as good, almost vanilla android is preferable to me.
 
I have installed 10.1.3.Well lack of camera,mic and haptic feedback make me wonder if kindle fir hd 8.9 at 18k was a better buy. :/

Edit:It does have a mic.

Depends on use. Never used the camera on my iPad, so the lack wasn't a deal breaker. Biggest plus point is the inclusion of microSD slot ! Plus a beautiful screen, more than decent battery life and access to Play Store OotB (still running stock here).
While Kindle is pretty awesome as well, you need to install a custom ROM to even fathom using it in India. And the lack of expandable storage makes it irksome for those who carry multitude of media with them.
Again, depends on what you want and how you want to use it !

I had the hissing issues..
Its dangerous (as the circuits are getting short inside), (It might be getting a bit hot as well)
I was sent a international travel adaptor, after complaining in the Nook Chat support (Thorugh it was in UK, I dont think they will send a replacement here)
 
Ofcourse for kindle fire 8.9 i was talking about after flashing a rom.It seems to have more development too.But as you said all depends on usage.
I would have considered hdx 8.9 if there was a custom rom available.From a hardware perspective,it is really a marvel.
Lets see when it gets a price cut next year and there will be roms for it by then.

For all those who feel that transitions are a bit laggy or not so smooth(i feel that),try increasing transition speeds.Works wonders.

could someone whose Nook charger is producing that hissing noise please tell how intense is it?! i could hear the sound on mine only if i brought the charger upto my ear and touch my ear on it, and moreover, the hissing sound from my cellphone charger is more than that (both audible only when i touch my ear to them).

Is it possible to stream audio from the Nook HD+ to a DAC like the Fiio X3? How to go about it?

I thought every charger emits a hissing sound as there is a high frequency flyback transformer inside (almost) every SMPS based charger.
