Which one do I go for Borderlands GOTY or Borderlands normal edition? (Both have 50% off, GOTY at 25 dollars and normal one at 10 dollars).

You can ditch Moxxi's DLC, as it sucks, LITERALLY! So get the vanilla game + Zombie Island of Dr. Ned + The Secret Armory of General Knoxx + Claptraps New Robot Revolution. The Claptraps DLC is just extremely average, so you can opt out of it if you want as well. However, the rest of the DLC's are a must, especially General Knoxx's DLC, as that's the longest and the most challenging DLC.

What?!! Didnt you check before buying? The Steam page makes no mention of CSS in the Orange Box! Anyway.. Orange Box is the best value for money! You'll not regret it :)
I wanted orange box anyways :D

And Can I find Borderlands co-op servers online? Mainly buying Borderlands for online co-op play.
Also, at 7.5 dollars, Saints Row 2 is almost 300 rupees ;) so I'd rather buy it off steam :).

@Ethan: Borderlands + 2 DLCs mentioned by you = 20 Dollars and Borderlands GOTY is for just 5 dollars more so I think I'll get the GOTY. Thanks for your suggestion though! I know which DLCs to play first now. Also, I can play online Co-op on the DLCs right? Sorry for the n00b questions :ashamed:.

I'm not sure about Steam, but when we usually play the game using Game Ranger, we do see a lot of people hosting co-op servers. But I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be difficult to find online servers. A word of caution, since this game relies on levelling up system, you'll have to join a game based on what your character's level is. If you want to start the game from scratch and co-op, then you need to find someone who's willing to go co-op with you. If you have a friend circle on Steam who might be interested in trying this game out, try coaxing them into buying this, that way, you all can enjoy it simultaneously. It's best played in 4 player co-op.

Makes perfect sense to go with the GOTY. Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was kick arse! Must play DLC of the lot IMO. :)

Go for it dude. Either way you'll have solid fun, provided you go guns blazing in co-op mode. In solo, it's a bit boring. And yes, you can play co-op in all the DLC's.

Purchased Borderlands:GOTY and DMC4 today. The funny thing is that they had initially priced DMC4 at $5, but later changed it to $10. I bought it for $5.

re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

Got Borderlands GOTY. And bought the Humble Indie Bundle 1&2 yesterday(Not through steam). Im hoping steam dosent have any more great deals, i might just go bankrupt this holiday season :P

Edit: Btw how much are you guys paying for USD to INR conversion? Canara Bank charged me 46.45 which is about 1.45 bucks over the current rate. And HDFC charges me about the same. For small amounts like these its a minor amount but was just wondering which bank or method charges the least. Thanks

re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

I was charged 1465 for 32.5 USD which works out to something around Rs.45.1/- per USD. This was through an ICICI Credit card.

banks do charge a higher rate than normal. i usually pay 47+ per dollar on my transactions with an icici card. and this is when the rates have gone down in recent months... it can be 48+ as well. luckily, our transactions are usually a few dollars at most so the total difference isn't much.

Yea typically they charge Rs 1-1.5 per dollar. DC indicated his ICICI card charged far less, wonder why yours was so high. Yep luckily just small amounts here so hardly makes a diff.

re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

Citibank: 469.83 for 9.99$. Which comes as 47.03 Rs per $.

@DC which ICICI card you used? Amex, Visa or MC?
