PogoPlug Pro - Discussion Thread

Sorry for the not clarifying it properly, I was reading at Archlinux forum that a Nokia CA-42 Cable is required for serial connection to un-brick pogoplug.

I was trying lately the installation of Archlinux on my Pogoplug-P21. Everything was running smoothly, but after restarting the device installing Samba my Pogoplug just stopped working! No DHCP lease at router, blinking LED, no SSH (Obviously!).

Tried to repair pen drive in other Linux machine to re install the tarball "Oxnas" , put mac_addr file in "/usr/local/" with MAC Address written in it, but all went in vein.

So after some late night studies I came to know that I have bricked my P'plug!
<

Now only Nokia can help me with their CA-42 Data cable to un-brick my the same.

That's why I need the cable. If you guys have any other solution then please help me.

BTW, Dinjo please clear your 'pm box', I tried to PM you first as you are from Mumbai too....

I hope you extracted the files when you were logged in as root i.e just to confirm sudo su and then extract. Also did you set the static IP in rc.conf ?

You should try asking on ArchLinuxArm IRC Warheads would be able to guide you properly.

@varkey

Thanks for all the help. I got archlinux installed on pogoplug pro.

Can you tell me how can I use it to start downloading torrents?

After installing transmission when I reach to the part of starting it with this command '/etc/rc.d/transmissiond start', I get this error

' /lib/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /usr/lib/transmission-daemon)'.

Something messed up with my pogoplug pro:

Any clues as how to get it back? Support wasn't much great from pogoplug.

Did you recompile the modules after installing Arch linux ?

Nope none of that. I actually unpacked it, connected to the network, activated it and went for a break. My kid was playing around, when I got back, it was switched off. When I switched on, it has been this way.
<

Do you have rootfs image?

+LT

You mean you cannot connect to pogo ? Lights blinking ? How did you came up with print env then ?

Dinjo,

Well went there and talked with WarHead, looks like I need rootfs image of pogoplugpro. Can you/some kind soul please post one?

"and if you can find a Pogoplug series 3 mtd image, you'd be good to fix that." were his comments.

BTW, Pogoplug support has shown me the middle one. So those folks are out. They closed the ticket. My only alternative is to boot off sata which I wish to avoid, cause it will mean additional wire for sata powering and so. Can someone pleas help me with the image?

+LT

RootFS is located at Pogoplug Pro Install Page scroll down and check for "root filesystem tarball" text

I'm not sure how rootfs would help here since you haven't modified the bootloader yet, I hope you had told Warheadse that your virgin Pogo is not working ?

#Renegade

Not sure what happened but copy paste in the thread is not working.
