Post your overclocks !

2T Command rate is really hurting your performance.
Run it at 1T....

Take some tips from Funky/Harshal/Karan/Anish/Darklord, omg list goes on, anyways yea..

Finally ... something stable and performing ..

CPU can do 2.66 GHz , but then the RAM would only be reaching 192 MHz ... so i reverted back to 2.42 GHz .. not bad. .. plzn to get some ddr433 modules ... then maybe run it at 2.6 GHz 24/7 ... for now .. i'm quite satiesfied ...

Here is my first overclock with my budget P5GL-MX and Celron 2.8 Ghz.

Is this an OK overclock. I think I can do more if it wasnt for this damm onboard graphics !

P5GL-MX and Celron 2.8 Ghz.

The mobo is given there :P ...

Anyway nice OC there BF 1983 !!! It is damn good!!

how much performance increase do you see ?? Not much I guess...

Woops.

Hey, you're the richest guy on TE now !!!! Becharey Switch sir.:(

Stock cooling ? Which mobo ? Which cabby ? Which PSU ?

Temps before and after Ocing ?

Thanks ! I never really believed that I crossed 4G on my first attempt and that too on a 3k processor and 3.5k motherboard, stock cooling and a real cheap Zebronics 400W PSU.

@Nikhil - I havent done a single benchmark as this is my dads comp. But I will try later on for sure. But yeah since this is a celeron cpu, I doubt there will be much performance increase.

I am not too sure on stability, but it did boot at 4.36 Ghz, so I feel this is stable. But only Prime 95 or Sisoft burn-in test will tell. But have neither of these at the moment. So Ill have to download them later.

Im using a Zebronics HongKong cabby.

@bf - just cause pc boots at a certain clockspeed doesnt mean it is stable.

run prime for sometime to be sure its stable.

Agree completetly with you ! Thats why in my earlier post I said only Prime 95 or Sisoft Burn-in test will make sure of stability. :)

No, this speed isnt stable at all ! I ran super pi and the 1M mark sucessfully completed at 52 secs.

But on running the 16M mark, it hung up after nearly an hour.

So I had to down clock to 4.1 Ghz. Seems stable now as it ran the sisoft sandra burn-in test for more than an hour now.

Nice clocks there BF.Good going. It surely feels nice to see those nos. on a celeron rated at 2.8 GHz,problem is the performance even at 4 GHz is horrible.

But again what more can you expect from a 3k CPU.Good job.

Thanks ! All OC experience I got here on TE :ohyeah:

Now it is very stable at 4.1 Ghz after running burn-in test for over 3 hours.

@Akshitmohan - That review is old and pits the Celeron D with old Athlon XP processors. The newer A64 pocessors are much better at most anything.

Well, I dont like the name of the test - 'Torture Test ! ' I dont like the idea that I am torturing my components !

But in any case, this is my dads comp and I wont be able to run it at those speeds for some time now.
