sorry my bad, you mean everyone has jailbreaked without a usb dongle? I am running OFW 3.30. I dont carry much knowledge about Console operations, my ps3 was lying in dust since last year.

yes...that correct...dongles are now history. CFW supports upto OFW 3.55. even I am new to PS3 scene but know enought to hack

Last time i remember talking to Gannu, he said dongles were the only way to hack, that was a few months ago. Good to hear dongles are now history. I shall try my luck tonight.

+1 to what vercetti said. Dongle is a thing of past now. There are some other custom firmwares available as well. But Kmeaw 3.5 is the most stable and bug free firmware by far.

Here's a small step by step how-to make things clear for you.

- install orig 3.55 fw

- install kmeaw 3.55 custom firmware over it.

- install multiman or other backup manager.

- install bdemu.pkg (everytime you install or update your backup manager)

And you're good to go.

If games dont run. try launching them from xmb>Games>app_home

At the most, you can downgrade it to FW 3.55 and then JB it. Visit Ps3hax.net for guides/tuts.

Do we need to apply any .pkg fix for the Heavy Rain (BCES00802) to work on KMEAF 3.55 firmware? Or it will work as it is?
Same case for Bulletstorm too?

Worked for me without any issue or any .pkg.

Why not install the custom firmware yourself? It's as easy as updating your PS3's firmware via a thumb drive.
