How to Train Your Dragon (2010) - IMDb - 9/10
Better late than never - part II :ashamed:

Catching up huh... This was one of the best animated films to watch on a proper 3D screen. I wish Bangalore had a stereoscopic 3D screen [preferred IMAX] but all we had is over-priced crap at PVR and FUN Cinemas [and few others] on which if you use 3D glasses you get a few options --
  • you go to Urvashi after a few months to catch the 4K re-releases of films and get blown away;
  • you go to some regular multiplex that has ad-banners screaming "3D" in your face and get to see dark patches moving;
  • same situation as above, you ask for replacement glasses, you see dark shapes moving. LIGHTING and any textures are lost;
  • in your exasperation you yank of your 3D glasses, now you can see most of the colours [albeit slightly washed out]; look around you, all the others sitting in the theatre resemble zombies with these cheap anamorphic glasses on.
  • finally get out of the theatre, curse about the hopeless pricing [except Urvashi] and amazing 3D experience. Two months later download the 1080p RIP and silently weep...

True Bro..Even I have a similar opinion. None of the theaters are good and few of them like INOX in Garuda mall are crap.
After coming to Bangalore lost interest in watching movies at Theater.
As per friends and colleagues Cinepolis, Cinemax seem to better..I liked the old Fun Cinemas @ cunnigham road

The good news is that IMAX is coming to Bangalore soon but the tickets would be priced around 600-70rs.

Cocktail : 6/10.. it was a light movie. Had pretty low expectations and it turned out to be average. Few songs were nice and editing was done nicely. Overall enjoyed it. One time watch.

Abraham Lincoln. : 8/10.. Loved the action sequences and detailing of the 1800era. It was like sherlock era + wanted type action. Story was below average but it never came in as every 5 min there was some action going on. After interval it was dragged a bit, but it was silence before the last awesome action sequence. In all thoroughly enjoyed it. After Raid - The Redemption this is one movie which has good action. The director is same who directed Wanted movie(remember curving bullets paths). Still the actions sequences are going on in my head.

Now getting ready for TDKR..:)

Has anyone seen the director's cut of The Butterfly Effect? I just came to know the assort originally ended differently.

he goes back to his mother's memories as an unborn child and chokes himself with the umbilical chord

Fully agreed INOX is down right pathetic for 3D and ticket prices are ~300/- [can be lower depending on the movie and time].

I have been to FUN Cinemas Cunningham Rd. twice and its screen is good, though in 3D is no where close to Urvashi which still remains one of the best places to catch 3D films in Bangalore with a decent price-tag.

Never been to Cinepolis OR Cinemax so reserving any comments.

Yeah the most amazing IMAX ticket prices were in Hyderabad, getting tickets for ~300/-.

INOX Mantri Square are charging 620/- for weekend afternoon tickets :@

The last 3D film I watched was ~1 year ago that was the not so interesting RIO. So bound to go wrong there and my sincerest apologies.

Also we had booked tickets in bulk college-se. So got them for ~180/- per head.

Cocktail : 8/10 , Deepika was dam good at her role and daina was awesome as per here first shot :D though she needs to learn how to dance :P

Dr.Seuss: The Lorax : 10/10, Dam good movie and really they have a clear nice message conveyed in whole movie :)

Had been to Fun Cinemas to watch avengers, the screen quality was f$&k all , they played in a weird resolution.

I watched Shaitaan there also watched Brave [in 3D] recently, during the former the screen quality came across as decent.

They had charged us ~150/- for Shaitaan and the price seemed to be okay for the quality, with Brave ticket prices were ~220/- [first day, morning first show] and I make no bones that the poor screen made the films already very subdued colour palette almost a uniform shade of black. So definitely not a place I will go for 3D but okay for the occasional 2D outing.

Yes my friend who is based of Bangalore told me, seems there were black bands when The Avenger's was being screened. :annoyed:

I beg to Differ , Inox is not Pathetic .. Its a UBER CRAP !!! Most of the Movies especially 3D movies are 35mm format o_O . ( Worst part is that, its got a Dolby System , NO DTS )
Good place would be Fun Cinemas as u said the prices are some time Down south :P

All the Bangalore Peps who plan on Catching Dark Knight Rises , Be sure that you catch it in Urvashi 4K Digital Cinemas . [ Meyer Sound ( Datasat ) & True 4K projection ]
You of all people will love it .

No need to apologize mate. My anger was towards inox, Mantri mall. I don't know who are dumb enough to pay 600+ for that small screen. Urvashi seems to be the best here, but most of the times good hollywood movies are not screened there :| (except TDKR) How are the screens in ORR e.g. Innovatie, Cinemax ( Central and Total mall ) ?
