I've picked up the Wave. Had battery life issues (gsmarena claims 15 hours talktime - one of the reasons I jumped at it) - the phone would die in about 36hours and less than a couple of hours of talking. I've now got an 'RMA' certificate from Samsung service to get it replaced.

Apart from that, it's a *pain* trying to configure push mail (anyone with experience hooking it up to Exchange?). bada as an OS simply isn't ... gah, anywhere. Anyone heard of getting the Galaxy firmware on a Wave device so that Android can save this hardware gem from a 'bada' disaster ? :P

Seriously though, h/w specs are about the same, any thoughts ?

Would be wonderful if Andoid 2.2 and 3.0 could be ported to this device as it meets the hardware requirements. That would make it a top class Android device at the cheapest price.

hey soumalidon and all other wave users...

have almost gone through majority of the phone features.. really impressed with bada!

have got a problem though.. its regarding GPS. Cant understand how to get Navigation app (GPS) work. It gets on, and a globe comes up. How do we get it to locate our position? nothing seems to happen.. and also what all can we really get from the navigation app?

Also, wasn't able to find digital compass and call recording function. any help on this?

yes it does come wit the document viewer you mentioned. basic editing options are available. push e mail does work.

hey i've been looking around and i dont think there is a document viewer!!!

i have all other apps ....facebook, tasks, minidairy etc etc......no doc viewer!!

also i set up my gmail accounts......works perfectly.....put i do have to set it to retrieve at a period.....i dont see any push feature!!

and somebody pahleease help me to get this gps thing working!!!!

ya hopefully someone can do that .... that would make it a absolutely wonderful device

heyy... you wont find a seperate document viewer as such :P.. just transfer some office files to your phone and open them.. they will start in picsel document viewer.. wave is the the first device supporting the latest version of picsel viewer.. check their website.. i tried opening MS office files(doc, ppt and excel).. all opened quite nicely.. and guess what! it supports text reflow too.. the browser doesnt, a firmware update should fix this too though..

the document viewer is not visible in any menu. When you open a file (doc,xls..ect) the viewer automatically opens. I was not able to get GPS working either :( waiting for google maps.

the best phone on market

it has same cpu as i phone 4g
and same gpu as i phone 4g
very good cam
the screen it too good

It has same cpu as Iphone 4g , the 45nm cortex A8 1 ghz but it has much better gpu .. Iphone 4 has powervr sgx 535 one where as Wave has power sgx 540 one ..

It has a PowerVR SGX 535 (Iphone 3GS had PowerVR SGX 520 rite ??), the Wave has PowerVR SGX 540; If that is indeed true then Wave has one of the best mobile graphics platform out there .. now if only developers show more interest.

Only time will whether android will be ported on the wave... However i am satisfied with Bada's performance :)

Got my Wave yesterday for 17.5k . @arpan- What's your firmware version ? As I gathered info , the current Indian firmware is not the latest one. I have one DDJF1 version whereas in Germany DDJF4 is the one doing duty. Now how many apps you can open at the same time. I am having some prob with that aspect. As I open new ones, the old ones are getting closed down automatically. I am obviously new to this BADA os, hence have no idea about its functioning.
Need help regarding this..

@sujithbvm- Thanks.. I got ebony grey as my dealer only had that one. It looks pretty good to me though I have heard black one looks a bit better. No prob with that as who will look elsewhere when there is that awesome, exemplary super amoled display to stare at :)

The battery still is lasting just about a day under normal usage. yesterday night the battery was 60% , when i woke up it was down to 29%...did the alarm suck so much battery....this is not justified.

@arpan- I have got DDJF1 . Now which one is latest one? germans are using JF4 .. Any idea about how to change product code of Wave and then update it to euro or german firmware.. Since I am coming from symbian , this is very easy to do. But have no idea how to do that with BADA os ..
