Correction here. Its not that I do not like them. All I want is some money for my home theater upgrade which is getting in tune of 50K. So just selling the not so dear products for the benefit of dearer products.

The S:Flo2 and RE-0 combo is a perfect gift and I am sure I'll be buying it after a while (when I get my year end bonus in Feb).

Ohhh and by the way Ive heard the 702s on various occasions and spent countless hours listening to it at a friends place with enough power driving them from a Maverick A1 tube amp (not the D1 DAC ) .As much as I love them and they sound so amazing , IMO , its definitely not something you can recommend to anyone and be sure he will like it .Its usually the musical type cans which you can recommend to almost anyone :P A lot of people might find 702s bass shy or too bright ;). At this level its always about personal preferences .

As an instance, Brendon doesn't like akg 701 as he considers it to be bass anemic and to have an artificial soundstage.

And I love RE0, hard to beat it in highs. :)

^ first thing to all here, if you consider K702 to be bass-shy, you are not amping it properly ( or the recording is bad) K702 sometimes rivaled the tf10 in bass( when i had tf10 ). Also I dont think they are too bright.

on the soundstage part, well, call it artificial, cause sure its a lot WIDER than its deep..

really i stand on my words. 2 years form now ( when i have good enough amp/DAC ) ...try the k702 with my setup and YOU (anyone) WILL LIKE IT

Woah ! Hold on there, I have never heard the K701 so I really can't not like something I have never heard. :bleh:

I probably said that I have read that the K701 has anemic bass and an artificial soundstage. If you check out Head-fi.org you will find lots of posts mentioning that.

Yes its an assumption , but who said i cant assume some thing i am almost sure about.

As i have said the K702 sometimes gives me hints that its no slacker at low frequencies, yeah even quantity wise.

My recent rip if MJ sounds superb, with great bass response. and you have to agree MJ needs good bass quality and quantity, so am not lying.

Sorry, I seem to have misread your posts. :ashamed:

If AKG 702 has anywhere close to TF10 amount of bass, I am sure I will not like it.:bleh:

You cannot assume something you are almost sure about. Either you are sure or you are assuming :P. We can go all day, but this thread is about suggesting 2.5K IEM, not K702 :bleh:

No ways the TF10 and 702 bass can be compared . :S I dunno how strategy gets so much bass bass from 702 or so less from TF10 .

Strategy , what DAC and amp are you using the 702s with ?

with some recordings i do get a lot of bass. with MJ, black eyed peas, eminem, eagles, some more.

am using Maverick d1, you also hear it from the d1 and A1, right?

@esantosh, yeah right.

as for the topic, increase your budget! 2.5....WTF! :annoyed:

:)

sorry , get m2 form mp4nation at 2.2 shipped!

Woah PL-30 and M2 . Both are my personal favorites in their respective category :D Congrats !

Received the M2 today.

Just listened a few songs. Coming from PL11 - they are a huge improvement. But I think they are not yet burned in. Asked the seller to clarify.

How many hours of burning in do M2 require?

^ M2s don't show much burn-in effects. So what you hear now is the best of M2. :)

ljokersl rankings are good but take them with a pinch of salt. I actually prefer the M1s to the M2s which is rated higher so it depends on user preferences.

I guess you like the M1 more cause the sound signature of M1 is more balanced than M2. In terms of detailing the M1 doesnt come close the M2, IMO. M1 is good to the point it can be compared to RE-2 and maybe its little better than RE-2. M2's detailing is more near the RE-1,RE-0 level :P

I feel there's this slight lack of refined treble in M1 ..It sounds like a crude M3 to me. heheh
