The Return of the GUI. ZiPhone has quickly progressed into the essential iPhone unlocking/jailbreaking program for both the mac and PC. Last night I upgraded two of my friends' iPhones from 1.1.* version to 1.1.3 with a matter of minutes to activated, jailbroken and unlocked. It really can't get much easier than this.

Download the latest v2.4 with a redesigned GUI over here. ZiPhone Download Server

so what i want to know is that u have to click on first 3 options. what about the 4th one which is downgrade bootloader do we have to do this well.

^^You will have to downgrade the bootloader if you've corrupted your 4.6BL baseband and need to revirginise. If you want to do some hacking i.e. jailbreaking and unlocking then no, you don't need to downgrade the bootloader for that.

cutting the race short. planning to unlock one OTB 1.1.3 soon. am gonna use ziphone 2.4 gui which is out now. i do want to use google maps locate me. i just want to know if i should downgrade the bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9. have reads tons and tons that phone might get bricked and wifi and stuff might now work. lets say if i do not downgrade will locate me work or not. simple i guess

@jesal: If you want Locate me to work, you currently need to be at BL 3.9. Or you could wait a couple of days till 1.1.4 is unlocked. It's only been jailbroken and activated so far, and people who have upgraded to 1.1.4 claim that Locate Me works with the 4.6BL.

Unlocked the 1.1.4 . i had downgraded my bootloader previously from 4.6 to 3.9

and now i have unlocked the 04.04.05 baseband.

Signal strength is definitely improved.

Apsupport 1.1.3 patch will just work fine with 1.1.4 .

Normal headphones simply won't fit into the 3.5mm connector in the iPhone because it is recessed. Meaning that the jack needs to be really slim in order to get pass the recess. So, yes, you can't use normal headphones out of the box.

But, there's a way to get them working. Just use a razor blade and chip away at the rubber sheathing the 3.5mm jack just enough to make it thin enough to slide in. Voila :)

the list is good but would love to know only the best ones really. so updates to the best links please.

There is no "best" source as such. I, for example, only have community sources installed. I then scout on websites like ModMyiFone.com - iPhone Forums and News for iPhone apps that are of benefit to me. Only then do I proceed to install their respective sources.

Also, installing too many sources will make refreshing them an ordeal for Installer.app. On my EDGE connection, I have to keep setting auto-lock to never before I run installer, as the refreshing always out-lasts the phone's 1-minute auto-sleep cycle.

Moral of the story: Only install the specific sources you want and trash the rest.

hey guys i have a question..... will a unlocked iphone work as an ipod without a sim card in it?...... i kno its a wierd question but does it play vidz n music without a sim????
