I am getting it now, will report back how every thing goes. I have not jailbroken to begin with, so I guess I should be OK. I have been using only AppStore ever since it came, so completely I did not go for Cydia, etc for 2.1
 
hey...

i have an iphone with a firmware version 1.1.4(04.04.05_G)..

i just had it unlocked and jailbroken by somebody else(ALFA-for mumbai users)..using it on vodafone..

1. but now my youtube isn't working..my safari is working with my wifi but youtube doesn't start...says 'cannot connect to youtube'..need help on that..

2. i have heard upgrading it to 2.2 will only make it slower..is it true..? and how i upgrade it from home..?

3. the locate me doesn't work, help on that..?

4. how can i use the EDGE on it, on the display the E is showing..?

thanx in advance..just got the iphone..need help..
 
hey, my friend have iPhone with firmware 1.1.2 and unlocked somewher in mumbai..

He wants to upgrade it and unlock it again..

Which unlocking way should I use?? I mean Ziphone, Liberty, WinPWN..

Which is safer way?

Edit - that iPhone fall from 3rd floor and got its display broken.. Where can we change that in Mumbai??

Use WinPwn, but make sure you have 2.1 instead of recently released 2.2 Fw.
 
Finally got time to try it out, and it's working great, currently using my Airtel sim on a Vodafone locked phone :ohyeah:




Just had to install yellowsn0w from cydia and reboot twice to get it working :)

btw in other news, operation bluesn0w, which is the bluetooth equivalent of yellowsn0w, seems to be making good progress...

Our team has successfully been able to demonstrate a 'pwnage' of the bluetooth chipset allowing anyone to write/implement a fully functional Bluetooth Stack that runs on your iPhone, and this will be our next step.

They've also released a command line utility as proof of concept, it would be really awesome if they could get this to work

Why on earth did you have to do that ? :S
 
Havn't tried it yet, but you can uninstall directly from cydia, if that doesnt get rid of the traces then you could always restore :)
 
wanna copy PDF's to my iphone. Using the PDF Viewer. firmware 1.1.4.

i tried using the Winscp,

1. couldn't find Media folder in /var/root/. tried creating it and den PDF folder, copied the files but the PDF Viewer doesn't show.

2. den reading some forums i saw Media folder was der in /mobile/Media. created PDF folder der & den copied but again de PDF Viewer didn't show anything.

need help on this.
 
is there any way to selectively transfer only certain apps from the itunes ?? I mean i got a huge library of downloaded apps on my itunes and was wondering if there was a way to transfer a few of them to the iphone.
 
hey..why doesn't anybody reply here.. i have already put like 2 concerns.. if this is forum for our queries..why doesn't anybody have even one reply..
