could the instructions be a little more detailed please..I'm not able to understand much
Please wait for another day, I will make a more detailed guide to flashing the phone

Was doing jogging with Sports tracker/media player on. The phone gets automatically off and now its not starting :(

Removed the battery and even charged it but to no avail :( What am I suppose to do ? The set is 5235.

This is a summary of steps I follow for flashing my 5800.

Code:
1.	Install JAF (JAFSetup_1.98.62.exe).

2.	Run PKEY Emulator (OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_v 5.exe) and click Go. Run this as administrator in Vista. If firewall prompts for access permission, allow.

3.	It will come up with error: box driver not installed > Click OK and now JAF will run.

4.	Identify the product number of your mobile first. For this, select BB5 tab > tick on "Prod. Manager" > then click the "SERVICE" button > click the "Read Values" button.

5.	Now run Navifirm (navifirm.exe). Select the appropriate options based on the product code obtained in step 4. Wait till all files are downloaded.

6.	Disconnect the phone if it is connected to PC. Now go to the BB5 tab in JAF. Tick Manual Flash & Dead USB. Untick CRT 308.

7.	Rename the core file you downloaded with Navifirm. For example, rename RM-356_50.0.005_prd.core.C00 to RM-356_50.0.005_prd.core.C0R (note the last letter change).

8.	Press MCU in JAF, wait for 10 seconds and select the file you renamed in step 7.

9.	Press PPM and select the rofs2 file downloaded as part of the custom firmware.

10.	Press CNT and select the rofs3 file downloaded as part of the custom firmware.

11.	Press APE VARIANT and select the uda file downloaded with Navifirm (for example, RM-356_50.0.005_026_000_U01.uda.fpsx).

12.	Remove the memory card (not required in most cases).

13.	Press Flash. Switch off your phone and connect to USB. Confirm that you have selected the proper files in the warning dialog. Click Yes if everything is correct.

14.	Press the power button in the phone for 1-2 seconds so that the display turns slightly on.

15.	JAF will find the phone. If not repeat steps 13 & 14. Once it finds, it will start flashing.

16.	Phone will restart after flashing is complete.

17.	Format the memory card or remove the folders sys, system, private & resource.

18.	Before using the phone, hard reset or soft reset the phone (*#7370#). Make sure that the memory card was inserted before resetting. This is required since the Rom Patcher files will get copied to memory card after reset.

Is it working now? I hope its not related to the apps you mentioned, because I use both of them heavily.

I flashed my phone with the AOV MEGA ELITE MOD V27 (NO CPU MOD) CFW.

My phone is really fast and zippy now. :D Some nice animations too.

I wanted to use the Omnia HS but it apparently has some bug because of which heavy flash sites like Youtube don't work. :(

I'm on the lookout for a decent HS now.

^ As I mentioned, the reason I haven't installed that is because the Omnia HS has a bug.

@raksrules - I'm a bit lazy and don't have a snapshot app installed right now. I'll try in a few days time. :ashamed: :P

Can anyone suggest a good screenguard ? The main issue i am facing here is that the bottom right of the screenguard has got lots of scratches because of that part being used maximum time by my right thumb. Rest of the guard is totally scratch less but it is just this one portion which has a harsh surface because of extensive touch use. Any better screenguard which has prolong life. Because at this rate i have to change screen guards every 1.5 to 2 Months.

Or have to live with it ?

@raksrules

Bro, Got 2 from ebay for 100 Rs.

Works like a charm.. Had posted link somewhere on TE. check out.

The listing has ended and also the seller has no products listed of ebay as of now. :(

Will have to wait for it to list again.

The zagg shield is expensive, but gadgetshieldz seems fine but not sure why they have the following mentioned there.

Note : This shield is only compatible with the Nokia 5230 which comes without the stylus and does not have any stylus compartment

Btw how is this gadgetshieldz, planning to order it.
