@the very frustrated saumik: Dude! Good pics overall, some with very good composition...BUT..for others to comment on the pictures, it's better for you to post 1.) Fewer pictures (choose your best and give a link to the album), 2.) NOT huge 6MP pictures but smaller 1-2MP snaps, and 3.) Probably post bigger sizes in-line in the post itself.

Just some friendly advice. :)

hm - Nice Shots Man!

My humble comments

#1 - Crop out the tree and you'll have an awesome pic
#3 #4 - Excellent - but would be better if perfectly horizontal
#7 - Awesome

Overall the pics are on the softer side.. but they are very good nonetheless

Eagerly awaiting the next lot :)

^^

5th was from Munnar
6th was take from Kumarakom, the resort I had put up at, not able to recollect the name now.... I think it was Called the backwaters
Have taken tons of pics will post em later tonite

The tree was addred for effect,
I liked it with the trees hence was clicked that way,
I have a normal pic of it as well...

As was the 2nd pic I was a bit shakky, plus was low on batteries....
Canon consumes Batteries thinking that its Jughead :p

7th was taken from my boathouse, it was late evening the sun was setting,
Tonite will post pics during my visit to the bird santuary....
Also what do you mean by softer side,
Since I am noob to photography and its terms... kindly enlighten me.....

Soft can mean unsharp and there are even lenses to achieve that effect. (especially for portraits)

It can also mean less contrasty. In the good old days of black and white, there used to be different grades of soft and hard printing papers, the soft ones giving less contrasty images.

soft would mean both less contrast and less sharpness
most cameras hav a vivid colour option to give higher contrast and more warm/poppy nice to look at images

and the softness is mostly noise reduction working....though whether or not it should be there depends from person to person....i like SHARP :)

Yup soft = not sharp - whether this is good or bad depends on what is being photographed - IMO generally sillhouettes are better when they are sharp
Here's one from me

Okay its that time of the year when everybody gets to see my highly elusive shots! :p

I'd like to call this one, very simply, SPLASH!

Canon EOS 40D + Canon 50mm f/1.8 @ 1/3200 sec, f/2, ISO-400, -1/3EV.

Shot in natural daylight (As always :))

C&C Most welcome.

P.S. - I know its not sharp, mmm-kay! Its hard for my 40D also to focus on the splash without controlled studio lighting and this was my 106th attempt (Not kidding!)
