1.5K PSU is not enough if he is planning to get a 6770. Seasonic 430 bronze at 2.6K is future proof. You can also get a Seasonic SS400 bronze at 2.2K, which would be enough if you dont want to spend more. Both PSU's mentioned are 80+ rated

thegatekeeper said:Yup,corsairs A.S.S is real good, you get home delivery after you give the psu to their service center.Better go for v2 cx430 cause I've had some horror experiences with cx430 v1,rmaed it twice and finally threw it away:|
tufel said:After doing a bit of research I've come down to two:
1.CX 430
2.Seasonic SS400.This one seems to be from their old lineup of PSU's.Is it any good?
Help me decide.

NTB said:Hello,
I am going to buy a new PSU for my system and would like some help in choosing the right one.
My current system
Processor : Amd athlon x2 5200+ @ 2.70 Ghz
Motherboard: asus M2N mx se plus
GPU: xfx 8600gt 256mb ddr3
Ram: 2gb transcend ddr2 @ 800 mhz
HD: Seagate 250 GB
and one dvd drive and 2 cabinet fans.
I have been using the i-ball smps that comes with the cabinet so far, but its starting to die now.
Future Updates
New GPU for around 4-5k within the next 8 months. Most probably a hd 5670, or a 9600gt, 8800gt (depending on the price).
A 1TB harddisk.
I will probably use the current proccessor+Mobo for atleast 2-3 more years. After which i will get new ones, but within the same price/performance range.
I use the PC, mainly for gaming, and also for occasional 3d Modeling and animating/rendering.
My budget for the PSU is 2000rs.
I am currently looking at buying a corsair cxv2 430W @ 2300rs. But its specifications say that it has only 1 6+2 PCIE connector, so i was wondering if it can be connected to a 9600gt which requires a 6 pin connector?
Is there any alternative PSU at lower price that might suit my needs? I am hoping to use the new PSU for another 3-4 years.
PS: Is the website lynx-india credible? They have a hd 5670 1gb ddr3 for just 3900rs.
Asus HD5670 1GB GDDR3 Graphic Card - Model EAH5670/DI/1GD3
If its for real, i might get it pretty soon. Btw, which is the better version, 1gb ddr3 or 512mb ddr5?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
