I am using for my phone from the same company as the link mentiones. Don't keep too high expectations given its price. It does what it is meant to do.
Sorry can't tll much as I don't have M3. Maybe @nick.knack91011 can help you out.

Will tell bout phone tomorrow... busy with some work.

Ordered a poco in some different state. The person is expected to arrive here next week, let's see how it goes.

Good luck again! And you did the right thing. Just tell the person not to open the phone and start it, LOL.

I remember when I got my LG Nexus 5. The Amazon (or maybe Flipkart) persons who delivered the phone were excited about the phone too and wanted to see it. I agreed, and asked them to open the packing. Man, he opened the packing and even took out the phone from the box. And before I could react, he even started the phone... man, I was so pissed! I immediately took the phone from his hand and said that now the rest I will do on my own. Stupid guys really. So, make sure that does not happen with you :p

@Tejas01
Any recommended protector/tempered glass?

Why are you going for a screen protector? Poco M3 has Corning Gorilla Glass protection, which is great to protect against any scratches. Personal experience from my Nexus 7 Plus. You should instead invest in a back cover or case, in case you want to protect the phone from unintended falls.

A friend also needs a new phone. His budget 12-13kish. Is Redmi note 10 worth the wait? The base variant for 13k is 4+64gb. Is 4 gigs enough for MIUI? Any idea about the pricing of the 6+64/128gb? Is the simple non pro one good?

You should start a new thread for this, as budget is different, and separate thread will attract more replies.

Untill Samsung makes revolutionary breakthrough with their SoC, stick with Qualcomm based phones. Samsung with Exynos Soc drains battery, heats up the phone. It also has a 720p screen. Besides, if it's in the same price category, I don't see Samsung's processor to be any time better than Snapdragon processor.
Long story short, avoid Samsung phones in this price unless you intend to change it in a year or so or hate MIUI to the core or looking for Swadeshi maal.
If you have no issues with M3, then stick with it. M3 is way better than the samsung phone.

Does a higher refresh rate screen on a 720p display make any sense?

I was about to quote that... Frankly no idea. I mean HRR would only make scrolling smoother, it has no impact on screen quality. Also, how the Exynos Soc performs with 90hz is another thing to watch out for. I mean its a budget Soc for a budget phone. I am not expecting a very smooth experience. Even my Poco X3 initially was jittery when it was launched. It's smoothness only improved later with updates.
If your friend can wait, ask him to see some reviews on YouTube to check if there are issues with HRR. Only time will tell how good is HRR on 720p screen.

@Tejas01 gave a much better reply than I could have given. Specs wise Samsung Galaxy M12 looks good, but it falls behind Poco M3 in the same price range.

There is no full HD display. The 6 GB variant is priced quite higher than the required budget. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB is priced at 13,499/-. At this range, they could've atleast given full HD display.

Phone is not waterproof, whereas I think Poco M3 is spill proof.
I don't think there is Corning Gorilla glass protection for the screen either.

I don't know the current situation with Samsung phones, but people do complain of the phones becoming heavy to use after a few years of use. Same was with my first smartphone, which was Samsung phone. It became really slow as the years went by... to the point where it was getting hard to get things done.

I checked the product page on Samsung's site, and even the specifications are not given properly for the phone. Nowhere it is mentioned if display is full HD or not. I mean, who gives specifications like that! More focus is on the monster battery. Really, these guys need to step up their game if they have to compete with the likes of Redmi, Oppo, Vivo, Poco etc, who are providing more value for money at a given price range.

Finally the poco delivered to some other town. But that person will take like 15 days to come to my city. He told me phone is fine and that he wants it too. He's willing to pay me the mrp lol
About the other poco that I need to order for someone. Will the same be eligible for discount https://www.flipkart.com/fes-sneak-peek-8jh-45ghj-store?param=776&otracker=hp_bannerads_2_2.bannerAdCard.BANNERADS_FES+Intrigue_AIKAPPQH1GZ3 M3 is not mentioned anywhere there.
It is an amazing phone , my friend saw mine and he wanted it and since I managed to fix my v20 ( prefer it for audio which is laways my first preference ) I gave it to him ! Re sale nokia 5.4 is goig for 11k to as you always wanted a stock clean android

Sneak peak does not show all models though so that offer might be on m3 as well !

That's great! Finally the phone has been delivered! But, 15 days is quite a long wait for a new phone, LOL. You must be wanting it now.

It seems like that person has opened the phone and maybe even started it? That's what I don't like. They should just keep the package as it is. I hope you get the phone soon.

Poco M3 does not seem to be mentioned in that sneak peek list, but you never know. You should wait till tomorrow to see if it will be up for discount too. Keep a check on it during the offer days. If it goes for a discount, I will ask my friend to consider buying it now.

Nokia 5.4 on quite a heavy discount seems very attractive.

Would y'all consider Poco M3 over Redmi Note 10?

My personal choice would be yes. For the same price, 11,999/-, variant of Note 10 with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM is being offered, whereas Poco M3 offers 6 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM.
If you want 6 GB variant of Note 10, you will have to dish out 2K more.

The battery of Poco M3 is bigger too.

So, for the same price, Poco M3 seems value for money phone with better specifications.

@becool773 Congrts on your purchase. Finally you got what you wanted. Although 15 days wait, but still.
Regarding offers on Fes Sneak, you will have to wait and watch if there is any discount. If you can extend your budget, Poco X3 is also good if you can manage the larger battery and weight.
For some reasons, I found Redmi note 10, 10 pro and 10 pro max to be an equally attractive option under 10-20k. But I would still like to see a review before I can jump the gun. All are giving Amoled screen, with 120hz on pro, pro max. If the screen quality is good, it would definitely be the best phone for the year.
But if the screen on my POCO x3 or even M3 is anything to go by, if they give similar quality screen... AAk bandh kar le lo!!!
It also has 1200 nits brightness(that is even more then what LG gives on their 2 lakh tv, lol) on max. So you really need to check the reviews before believing everything what they say is true. If it ticks all the boxes then it will really destroy the competition.
If your friend can wait for, say 2-3 months and have his budget extended then this could be really good option.

Another thing to mention why Poco/Redmi rocks for the price. I had gone to the shop and gave my phone to the dealer to check something. The first thing he asked was, "Is the screen Amoled?" No was my answer. Then he asked "Phone par Makhaan lagaya hai kya?" I didn't get his metaphor. He told me my phone feels so smooth to use, tell me which brand? Couldn't help grinning and at the same thing seeing the shock on his face when I told him the price. Felt very proud and satisfied that I ditched Realme XT and got Poco X3.

The only downside I see to pro, max is glass back. It looks good, no doubt, but glass adds to weight. It would make more sense to go for a higher battery, and hence weight, rather than glass back and weight.

And heres the thing the x3 screen isnt even amoled whereas note will be amoled ! So on paper it should be better. My m3 screen was pretty good too tbh I remember showing friends on first day and asking how much do you think this phone cost ( hiding poco bock just showing front ) they all said 17 18k.

Anyway , I think on paper note screen should be better than both but for the 120hz variant you would have to pay a lot more compared to normal one ie 16k atleast . But yes around 15k its probably best option now and has better haptics and camera than x3 and lighter and android 11 ootb. Whereas around 10k probably m3 is best , although i wud say for 1k more m2 pro is pretty much same more or less with better soc i think from what i remember as m2 pro is going on sale too now !

M2 pro has charging issues. Dn't know if they resolved it, but that was the main reason why i ditched m2 pro and went for X3.
Yup, agree with what you say. If they give upto 2k discount on cards on bith pro and pro max, it would be a really good steal. Not to forget, they are giving Sony IMX sensors(except in pro, which has Samsung) which coupled with Mi camera app does a really good job at taking pics, so a boon for photo enthus... That explains the cost difference between pro and pro max.
