What exactly is Government of India doing?

Not surprised... Investors need a stable environment and predictable laws. The govt change tax laws according to whims and fancies which creates doubts for investors wrt long term investment.
While Atmanirbhar is a step forward on paper, the way it is implemented takes India back to import-substitution era of 50's to 70's. Globalisation is way forward as the recently signed RCEP treaty showed. India chose to go backward instead of going forward. Few would like to invest under such policy environment.

Don't you get enough space at Broadband forum to BS anything that the Govt comes up with? Being critical is one thing , but being a propaganda spreader is another. Be at that BBF to spread your BS/hatred where your admin friend bans people who come up with any support to ring wing people so to create the space for only those with one sided idealogy/opinion and keep b**ching about them. I love to be critical towards Govt policies while thinking about the country but when you come from a place who shuts up people or bans the just to have a opinion that doesn't match their own, and you people not raising a voice for that ban, then you should seriously not have any opinion at all.

It's not personal. This is a community and I just want we participate with real people and not propaganda machines. You can check his post activity at BBF aswell. Same thing the OP does there aswell. A person who is critical for a Govt would be critical may be at one instance or two? or 10? or 50? but if he is critical towards everything, then that's propoganda. This guy is basically doing same on both platforms. If he really stands for "secular" or democracy, he would have atleast thought how come a person I was arguing with all of a sudden got banned. I bet he was happy about it aswell.

This isn't a one time occurrence. I have known from a different platform that many users are banned from BBF just to have a different opinion of admins.

I didn't even indulge in any political post. I just QUOTED A POST which was in reply to another of my posts. Both me and the other user were TROUBLESHOOTING some stuff on mesh routers.

The admin banned me saying quoting whole posts is not allowed.

Now I'm staying away from all Corona related thing and specially the vaccine scenario.
But as a public health guy who deals with vaccines ( non covid) everyday, I didn't understand a single thing about India's plan on covid vaccine.
AFAIK, only 2 vaccines have been approved yet for mass vaccination ( both require cold chain of -70 degrees) and USA has already paid a huge amount of money for them.
India is possibly depending completely upon Covidshield...( SII is stockpiling something which has not even passed the pre qualification test by our org's immunology department)
While really developed countries like Germany and Netherlands are struggling with the cold chain, I've not read/ heard anything about India's infrastructure.
This post has nothing to do with politics, but I'm having a hard time comprehending India's plan of vaccination. Someone from health industry told me India is planning to start vaccinating people from January...are they going to completely ignore the temperature requirements and start vaccination with vaccines kept at a much higher temperature?
From my limited experience with vaccines in general, can assure one thing... IT SIMPLY WON'T WORK as intended and will have ALL SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS.
According to Mr.Modi, government of India allocated a significant fund for vaccines, then why not buy the real ones!!?? Why not start building storage infrastructure ( -40 degrees is the lowest India had in 2014..I'm 100 percent sure about it)

I don't believe India has a plan on this apart from creating media frenzy. I am typically aligned with some steps this government has tried in the past but this vaccination and deliberate misleading the public to gather political points is a cheap move by the government. Those who aren't well informed or equipped will bear the risk for this experiment

So what if someone is critical of govts every action. They have the freedom to do so. One should choose logic and proof to post against their claims, instead of choosing the easy option of calling them a propaganda machine.
My personal views are same, citizens should always be critical of every govt action, no matter how good they are, because only then will they be motivated to do better. And there is always scope of doing better. This is my personal view and if I am going to exercise the freedom to post my personal views, then that doesn't make me a propaganda machine.
Yes, you shouldn't have been banned just for your views and opinions and that is wrong. However, IMHO, it is also wrong that you are bringing up a personal issue in this thread which is completely OT. You could have very easily created another thread about this issue you faced at the other forum, warning us of the dictatorial manner in which that forum is run.

We are lucky that they stopped at Augmentin. Nothing stopped them from stuffing Colistin down people's throat, barring their own lack of knowledge/stupidity. The only thing we know is that vaccines induce Ag Ab response. As with EVERY vaccine for a communicable disease, a baseline herd immunity is needed for mass protection.
Plus with virus mutations ongoing, we don't know if the current vaccine will protect against the mutated virus or not. As she said, it's a dynamic and evolving situation, rightly so.
For flu vaccines, the company takes historical data from preceding years and developes vaccine to protect against the most common strain active currently. For COVID, there's no precedence. There's no year on year historical data.

Well, tbh, I have no understanding of the Indian government's vaccination plan. Which vaccine will be used ? Who will be given ? How do they plan to store it at sub zero temps if those vaccines will be used ? From my experience in public health, I am not confident of adequate temperature storage of vaccinations in India. We saw many instances of polio vaccine (which have temp charts/color coding to keep a track of temps they have gone through) which clearly had to be discarded due to temp deviations, being utilised for vaccination during public health campaigns.
-70, oh boy. Nope, not happening in India.
Plus as a doctor, l will be very very wary of getting vaccinated till I read the CT it is based on. We don't have any published P3 data from any of the vaccine makers so far. Everything has been clubbed under EUA (emergency use authorisation).

Yes, other governments are rushing ...like US has already invested millions months before for 2 vaccines ( almost three four times their requirement...) and they have the capacity to maintain a cold chain. If one vaccine fails, they will try another and so on..
What has Indian government done so far?
They are trying to stockpile Oxford and AstraZeneca's Covishield as it is manufactured in serum institute's Pune plant..a vaccine that has not yet passed pre qualification test for export!!
You call this emergency preparedness? If Indian government was truly rushing, they should have invested in Moderna and Pfizer's vaccine months ago ( like US) and build at least some sort of cold chain infrastructure.

I try to stay away from discussions about covid and specially the vaccine scenario nowadays.
But like Alekh pointed out, as doctors we can not just turn off our brains as we know how important the cold chain is, when it comes to vaccines, but almost no media talk about these technical issues.
With my European friends I always try to defend or at least justify some of the strange decisions Indian government makes nowadays. But this is a predominantly Indian forum with most members located in India...why fool ourselves by blindly supporting everything!?

not jumping the bandwagon but Russia's avg temps and India's avg temps are way differ. Most of the part of Russia is covered in snow and relative temps are lower anytime than in India. This is another perspective that has to be taken into account - same goes for US/UK/Canada where most part will be covered in snow.

That's one of the biggest misconceptions about vaccine storage..
The entire Russia/ EU/ US may be covered under snow, but that doesn't help vaccine storage in any way.
I'm not going to explain why....it's pretty obvious (most of us living in these parts of the world would have been dead by 2nd week of December!!)
