The game has just began. This scare tactics of modi govt has started to fall. They cant scare corporate and force them to donate to PM cares funds/ backed all the times.

WhatsApp has filed a lawsuit in Delhi against the Indian government seeking to block regulations coming into force on Wednesday that experts say would compel Facebook’s messaging app to break privacy protections, sources said.

Can’t have more than one party spying on its citizens. Government doesn’t like competition. The recent data protection bill does opposite of that, gives more powers to government and law enforcement to spy and snoop on citizens more easily.

I can’t imagine the irony of WhatsApp suing the government to ‘protect’ user privacy.

Even if whatsapp wins, govt. will introduce a new tax slab (usage of social media platform) and loot us anyways... So in short we will be paying for all this!
Enjoying suing susuing..
In the end population/tax payers pay for everything.

Is there anything these guys can't **** up?
The only 2 groups of people who want to add "always" to Murphy's law.

But are not Google and FB agreeing -- to have those special officers posted which interact with the government for compliance and grievance. It is just as severe.

Frankly, it would have made more sense if an independent body under the chairmanship of Judicial representative (judges) was setup to look into the issues of grievance redressal rather than the govt. Both the parties can debate it out and the body can pass directives to these social sites.

There is always a possibility of abuse of power by the govt.(twitter)
