Re: X360 Controller for PC

It was a 100% Chinese FAKE , get yourself something with a warranty for 1200-1300 from Planet M , Nehru Place etc .

Also never ever ever , forget to check the manufacturing date. These morons will sell you a controller with mfg of 2005 without you even coming to know about it.

Re: X360 Controller for PC

Since it's sold in the Palika you've got be suspicious! Why take a chance if the controller refuses to work and the dealer does not agree to replace it later? Get one from Punker's GO. Me thinks he was selling one for 1.2k + shipping. Check out the hot deals and discussions thread bluffy.

Re: X360 Controller for PC

i bought 360 controller in 1200/- around 1 yr ago from palika ...

Re: X360 Controller for PC

I just purchased a controller last month from Nextworld.in who're Delhi based. Cost me Rs 1280 incl. shipping. Mfg. date on the box was Mar 2009 and it was in English.

LOL! Planet M & Croma showrooms rip you off with at the retail price tag of the controller. When I was on the hunt for my controller, they quoted me an insane 2.2k for the wired one back then. I finally got it for 1.6k from Lamington road. So rest assured they won't be selling the controller for a price lesser than MRP quoted on them. :P

I am glad I didn't buy it then. The way those shopkeepers were dealing with me, I had a gut feeling that something was fishy. Will try getting it from Nehru place, Planet M rips you off like anything.

Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

Hi,
Last night I tried connecting my Xbox 360 Controller to the PC. I downloaded the Software/Drivers etc but it did not work at all. Its the wireless controller, but I connected it to the PC using the USB cable.

Is the USB cable only for charging purposes?
Cause the PC does detect it but it does not show up in joy.cpl at all.

Do I need to get a wired controller for the PC or whats the issue?
Is there anything I am doing wrong?
Is there any Hack to get around this?

Thanks a lot for all the help...
Have a nice day.
Cheers,

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

Quick question, do you have the wireless receiver attached to the PC as well? It's the device which actually allow the 360's wireless controller to be detected on the PC.

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

Nope. I thought it would simply use the USB cable for it. :-(

How is the Xbox 360 working it wireless-ly?

I dont think I have any receiver connected to it either but I could be wrong.

I am not so familiar with the Xbox, its barely even used, just wanted to try the controller for Mafia 2.

The USB cable that you're talking about may be the play and charge kit. It's basically used for charging your controllers battery whilst you use it. It won't allow you to sync the controller on PC using that cable. You need a Wireless receiver for Windows for the wireless controller to be picked up.

On the 360, the board has an internal receiver with which it can synchronise up to 4 wireless controllers.

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

^^ thanks that clears alot.

Any clue how much the receiver is for? Is it available as stand alone?

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

^^ Thanks but I can't access it from Office..

How much is it for?

Just thinking if I should get this or the regular controller for the PC....

Quote is approx 2000 Plus Shipping

I believe you have already bought the wireless controller and the plug n play charge kit. A normal USB wired controller will cost you approx 1500 bucks

If you buy a wired one you then have 2 controllers (1 Wireless and the other wired)

If you buy the adapter then you have just 1 controller which works both on the computer as well as on the xbox

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

^^ actually I have 2 wireless controllers, and one plug and charge kit, I didnt even know it came as a separate kit.

I think it was included in my edition, its the Resident Evil Edition, the xbox and controllers are Red in color and stuff like that. Using them both with the Xbox, So dont know which one to get now...

Either the wireless kit and I have 2 controllers for both Xbox and PC

or another a wired controller for the PC and 2 wireless + 1 wired for Xbox...

Confusing right?

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

yeah, for sure. if you have 2 wireless controllers then i would say you should go with the wireless adapter.

Re: Xbox 360 Controller not working in Windows

Instead buy wireless controller with receiver keep receiver for yourself and sell the controller or keep it for yourself if you want.

the price for combo is Rs.2689.
