Manufacturers mention the number of permissible dead/stuck pixels in their warranty terms. No manufacturer will replace the monitor for 1 dead pixel (AFAIK). For eg, if they say the tolerance is 5, then it means having upto 5 dead pixels is considered normal and wont be replaced under warranty...

Like abhi mentioned, try out ur component cable, if it doesnt work, get the S-video to composite, it will surely work. Tuner cards need a pretty strong signal, so if ur signal is weak, it will be somewhat clear on TV, but in the tuner card it'll be crap. U can try getting wide-band cable tv...

E6300 is quite old and not such a great performer anyway. Better to go for some newer proccys if ur intention is an upgrade..maybe a E5200/5300 or something (not much idea). BTW what's the purpose of the upgrade? Just for the heck of it, I guess :)

Looks like ur front panel USB is not able to give enough power. Ur drive and drive's cable etc is fine. Either it's some loose contact in the front USB wiring in ur cabby (take it to the service center to fix if u can't fix urself), or else ur mobo is not able to supply enuf power via front...

If you're paying 179 for it(ebay), you're paying around 100 rupees more than what it should cost. I think I bought one for about 80 rupees a couple of months back from an electronics store.

Instead of going to recovery console, if you try to reinstall windows on the same drive, I think it will repair the installation...not sure though..you could try it if nothing else works.
