Airtel & MTNL Broadband double speeds @ Delhi

Guys if you haven't used MTNL then please dont add crap about MTNL, they are far better than Airtel in every respect except their CC part. It has less downtime than Airtel.

Their eng. have far more knowledge than airtel guys. I agree their CC is crap. They dont greet you when you call them, they usually say " Tell why have you called" instead of a greeting

Whatever I wrote was based on my experience w/ MTNL of the past year.

Be it airtel or mtnl, their service will always depend upon the quality of hardware and how knowledgeable their staff at the local exchange is. Somewhere it's good and somewhere it's bad but I'm not disregarding other's opinion unlike some other people here.

I was facing frequent internet outages, varying from a few minutes to couple of hours. Hence I changed my connection to airtel.

I just spoke to airtel cc,512 kbps UL now costs Rs 649 in delhi and there is no FUP on this plan. So far this is the only new plan in delhi.

Just today my speed got doubled from 2mbps to 4mbps! hyeah:

i thought it was only for 256/512 users or maybe its temporary

Called up the airtel CC, as per the guy after consulting his seniors, speed has generally been doubled on the Rs.649/256kbps UL plan to 512kbps and the 'doublespeed' offer is only valid for south india :S
I'm thinking of swapping over to MTNL, but don't want to leave airtel's service. MTNL keeps disconnecting frequently, with outages lasting almost 5-6hours at times

Airtel and mtnl will have very similar plans in delhi, airtel will match whatever is announced by mtnl as they have done with 512 kbps UL plan. So there is no reason to shift from airtel to mtnl

same thing applies to you also :|

I have been user of airtel from past 2 years and have never faced a major downtime.And I can vouch for their CC and their service.

My friend took mtnl connection recently and he is facing net disconnection every two hours.In-numerous calls to CC have not helped,these guys just come and change the modem rather than rectifying the issues.

On the other hand airtel has always solved my problems in a days time.

Stuck on same old 512kbps speed.

MTNL FTW for me for past 4yrs.hyeah:

Problems came but were solved easily, has called MTNL CC less than 10 times in the entire 4yrs.:hap2:

^ there is 1mbit upload too 999 plan ? if that is the case then soon i will be moving from 599 to 999

can you please confirm about upload speed of yours ?

(i'm getting 512/512 on 599 plan)

3 year with MTNL,999 plan,total one time cc call as MCD cut underground wire,repaired within 6 hours

check it out - I m on 999 plan - getting 124~127kbps download and ~120kbps upload speeds.

MTNL Broadband Internet Services Tariff Plans

At present all broadband customers are given upload speed upto 256Kbps without any charges acroos all prepaid and postpaid plans.

Still getting the same 512kbps speed.

Me too, hopefully it will be upgraded soon.Nowadays, cant even watch youtube videos without buffering on 512kbps

@joy1 Register on their broadband complaint form and mention the speed problem, i did the same, next day they doubled my speed. MTNL do follow online complaints.
