Airtel & MTNL Broadband double speeds @ Delhi

Just got off with CC, they sending engineer to check

About FUp they say no FUp for 649 plan but if you being upgraded to 512Kbps...

Then your FUp is 5GB only so once you hit 5 gb which can happen within 48 hours you are back on 256 kbps....

Seems it is time to switch to MTNL :mad::mad::mad:

5GB FUP limit on the 649/512 plan, really?
 
Still on 512 KBPS on MTNL Pitampura exchange. I spoke the the MTNL Customer service. They said that the new speeds would be implemented by the month end in all the exchanges.

But MTNL has always been more transparent then Airtel. I had an Airtel connection. I had to go to a Airtel office to submit a form so that I could check the Internet usage online! Not required by MTNL or the Airtel Mobile. I guess they didnt want the customers to find out the actual usage so that they could exceed the free quota. Moreover if I called anyone from an Airtel landline, they replied rudely in the beginning thinking that the call is from some "Credit Card/Loan/Insurance" call center.

But MTNL was bad last summers. The connection was slow. I think it was because of summer holidays. All the students are home without much to do other then internet browsing. So the bandwidth became overloaded. The experience became fine once the schools opened.
 
Guess its official now for MTNL Delhi. Heard its ad on FM where the aunty was chirping "Ab MTNL ka minimum download speed 512 kbps hay" (MTNL's minimum download speed is now 512 kbps).
 
Damn this is one sad news! Looks like am gonna switch to MTNL now as well but there are quite many problems with MTNL like disconnections and sucky customer service. At least with Airtel I know, when I come back home, my internet would b working whereas the probability is kinda low with mtnl.

I think I should wait for some time, as airtel may decide to remove the FUP.
 
No, Timarpur exchange, I had called the CC day before yesterday and the lady said that the complete rollout would be done only by the 20th.
 
I have 2mbps unlimited. Will it also be upgraded to 4 mbps or they will reduce the price of current 2mbps unlimited. I called CC but they dont know what will happen to customers who have 2mbps unlimited. Anybody been upgraded to 4mbps from 2mbps ????
