Bad Company II : Initial Impressions

Just to inform you guys,my already updated game is now showing another update available. Version 521775,or something similar. I am updating my copy currently. People who have had trouble updating can give it a shot again.:)

WTH. It will take all night on my 256K connection. Do you see any improvements in the server browser? Are there any new maps too?
 
Hey can you guys see the pings in the in game server? I cant......... It shows only a dash (Hyphen -) in place of all the pings...............

You absolutely need PB to be installed in order to play on ranked servers. Its an anticheat mechanism. You might as well install PB from the retail disc.

You will find it under the Punkbuster folder once you browse through the disc contents. Follow the instructions and wait for a couple of seconds/minutes and it should be done. for best results, disable any firewall, UAC etc and run the .exe file as admin.
OR - download a fresh/latest copy of PB from their website.

But after I installed it 2 days ago, the prompt/nag stopped. Now a new one has come up. Which is below.

Groan..first 262MB, now 620MB patch. That is almost a 1 GB of patch. Hell.

Cant believe game developers did the ....

I have heard it twice the soldiers talking among themselves .... one where they call the "heartbeat monitors" as pussy and "snowmobiles" as lame or something. .... totally hinting as COD4MW2. Thats just cheap.The developers have themselves copied the damn thing from MW , and just changed the vehicles and voila!!:rofl:

After today's 620MB(?) update I am able to see the pings. Also now the server browser doesnt automatically start to list the global servers list as it used to do earlier. You have to click SEARCH manually to perform the operation,which I think is great.

I am getting a ping of 125 on SALUZI(Thailand) server.

@asingh: Look at the bright side,this is the first EA game I am playing where the developers are actually making an effort to fix something. Unlike NFS Sh*t.
 
After updating the game (had to leave it overnight), I can finally find the SALUZI and Fragnetics servers with really good pings (that would be below 150 for me). Well, then the patch really fixed something.
