BioShock Infinite - Discussion Thread

I was just wading through the recommended specifications of the PC version and this is what I noticed:

a Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit install on a quad-core processor, 4GB of memory, 30GB free hard drive space and an AMD Radeon HD 6950 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 with 1GB of RAM or better.

30GB free hard drive space? WTF? Are you shitting me? It's said to have a 3 DVD install, so I'd assume it could be a sub-20GB retail. However, the Digital download would truly reveal it's actual size.

My goodness that is a lot of space required! Uncompressed textures and audio maybe? Although the minimum requirement is 20GB. But this is the best part:

Video Card: DirectX10 Compatible ATI Radeon HD 3870 / NVIDIA 8800 GT / Intel HD 3000 Integrated Graphics

Sweet!

Got a confirmation from Steam users that the pre-load is 15GB. So I'm guessing it will take a bit more, post decompression, or much more. But I'm quite surprised that an Unreal Engine 3 game is going up with it's file size, when they generally stay below the 10GB category.

This will sell well. There is already a huge marketing campaign behind this with never before seen preorder bonuses. 2K games bet a lot on it, looks like it's gonna pay off. For those who don't follow preorders, you can get Bioshock 1, XCOM Enemy Unknown and a lot of other games or in store credits if you pick it up online from any distributor like Steam, Amazon, GMG, GamersGate, GetGames etc.
