BSNL 3G Thread

Has BSNL capped the 3g speeds to 1-1.2 Mbps in Maharashtra Circle? or is there any setting that i need to adjust?

I am using Nokia 5800xm as USB modem but speed remains stuck at 1-1.2 Mbps only....

@raksrules are you on a Limited Plan or an Unlimited Plan bcoz i read in some forums that BSNL is capping unlimited users with 1 Mbps speed while Limited 3g data users can get speeds upto 3.6 Mbps( in some cases 7.2 Mbps too), Is this true?

My main account validity expired tonight, so did a topup of 110 from bsnl portal and got 3 months validity instead of the usual 30 days

Was it a topup or Flexi Topup of Recharge option in BSNL portal. I thought top ups never have any validity ! I am looking to do the same

Cant send you a PM,clear your inbox, normally the topup doesnt have any validity but mine is bsnl saral anant plan, while getting the sim i told them to do a FRC of rs 58 instead of the usual rs 120, so my number is lifetime now and i need to do only a topup of rs 110/220 in 3/6 months to get validity, i got 99.4 something balance with this topup, so it all depends on the FRC on which you got your sim.it was a normal 110 topup on bsnlportal not recharge/flexi.

My 3G connections stopped working since yesterday. Validity is there still. Any bangalore users facing the same problem.
The issue was that my main account expired though 3G account was valid. So recharged with 110 RC and got 3 months validity instead of 1 month.

Thanks a ton...even mine was FRC 59...so will top up with Rs 110

Any solution for 1 Mbps speed cap guys? I get full strength network in my area, also the BSNL Tower is merely a 1-1.6km away from my place.

Had gone to CSC they said they have no idea about speeed related issues, so where to query about this?

I did FRC 120 and I got lots of free goodies :bleh:

Special thanks to member sabby :hap5:

i am using that 3gb limited 2g plan on reliance but the network sucks and 3gb is way insufficient.
is the BSNL unlimited plan still on???
i am in bangalore

^^MTNL 3G Unlimited plan but you will need to source a 3G SIM from Mumbai. Also get confirmation about the usage in roaming.

Aircel supposedly has UL 3G for like 1.25k but no more details yet. Also it is not available everywhere.

2000 sms free for local/national

204800.00 KB Gprs usage,

100.00 Minutes free Video Call

i guess it is a local tower issue. Had similar experience with mtnl 3g from past 1 month where i get upto 150KB/sec speeds though would normally would get more than 300+ speeds.
