BSNL 3G Thread

Getting one sim from Dombivali today, for Mumbai use.

Any of you guys familiar with what amount/payments I should opt for ?

As in, the Sim Cost + First Recharge Coupon + First 3g data recharge to get the maximum benefits ?

@desecrator ... if you want tethering on iphone try "pdanet"

@ggt ... have you tried the vista ones too ? Just try to apply all the x64 ones, maybe one will work. If you using nokia mobile as your modem then use ovi suite to connect.Uninstall nokia pc suite.
 
^^ Hope u saw that your other thread is closed. If you read we have been discussion the same in last 8-10 pages. I dont know what made you to post this without even reading the thread's last 1-2 pages !

Ok will try the ovi suite.
I tried all combinations. For vista , server etc.
Did not work for me.
But these symptoms are not hereditary from nokia suite.
I had earlier tried it using my moms SE T7OO.
Do you think ovi suite will solve the problem?
BTW on network scanning i can now also find the reliance 3G network active in mumbai.
But no access as of now.
Whenever i do get access i will post the screenies of reliance 3G to compete with your show off :p
 
I have bought new 3G sim even i have old 2G BSNL connection, but now i think my 3G hopes would not complete. I have checked signal strength in my house, i am getting only Edge signal but when i came just outside my house. I am getting full 3.5G signal. I have tested one of my friends BSNL 3G usb modem, i still not getting any signal in house even it gives me low 3.5G signal strength outside my house but i can get full signal on my new N8.
Guys now i need good Usb modem with signal booster antenna. Please suggest good modem with supports external antenna. I know there is huawei E122 but it is out of stock in dealer section. Please recommend good Usb modem and also any 3G signal booster.

I have tested this with friends BSNL Usb modem. I have tired testing with my new sim but even after getting settings, i am not able to use internet. Is there any procedure to activate internet on 3G or is it activated by default. I have tried calling CC but even after in queue for 20 minutes, i am not able to speak with CC executive.
 
Hi folks,

Just received HUAWEIi E122. When I insert it, USB drivers are installed. But it is not being detected as a modem. Is there any other driver I need to install??
 
how to check if the first 7 days are free unlimited download ? . Need to go home and plug it in to HSDPA Mode :D .

Ho for the first 7 days your 200 MB account will not be charged . After 7 days it will be to charge ?

Got a 3G sim , 59 + 56 Rs .Balance is 30 Rs .It says valid it 2011 .I see 204800 KB as balance for data .

You don't. I've downloaded over 6gb in 3 days and my 3g is still working :p However I got a balance of 25 only when the sim was activated :|

Why is the last page of the thread not loading for me !!

Just now did a recharge of Rs 2500 from the BSNL portal....but no confirmation sms even after 5-10 minutes. Balance is getting deducted on 3G data usage. It did show up as successful on the portal with Transaction NO and receipt No.

When i bought new sim, it comes with 120 Rc and i got 140 balance. How can i check my data balance. I am still not able to activate internet on new sim. can somebody shed some light on activating internet on new sim. I spoke to CC and they told me that it was activated by default.

I dont have idea about 7 days UL but yesterday i bought new sim for Rs59 + Rs120 RC by default which is Rs.180
 
@Supra .. your account got debited ? Give it some more time say 2 hours more.Coz the first time I did the online recharge at 7Am in the morning and i got the sms at around 9:30Am same morning. So just give it sometime :)

I had read somewhere that OVI suite has better usb modem drivers then nokia pc suite and for newer phones.So i suggested that.But one thing is sure the problem is somewhere else.Even on USB 3G modems plugged in to windows/linux same problem occurs.How frequent are the disconnections for you ? I have them around once an hour if downloading heavily.

Will wait for the other screenies :)

When you insert the e122 you should see 2 drives added in your Computer.One will say mobile partner and other will be for the microsd card.Right click the mobile partner > click install or autorum it. It will install the necessary drivers. Reboot your system afterwards. Then open mobile partner software and add the apn as bsnlnet.Click connect.

Is your mobile number activated ? Meaning can you call to your new mobile number ? If yes then your sim is activated. DO you get a 3G signal in your phone ? 3G or 3.5G whichever. You need to enter the apn as "bsnlnet" to start browsing on your mobile. If using nokia phone turn on "UMTS".
