PPO guys are cheap. i asked them specifically about NJ address and they denied citing it to be for business users. nonetheless, they offered me to use their NJ address and it's without any extra taxes.

I've spent couple of years in NJ and i know it's tax free (or the rules changed last year?)

Tax free only while ordering from ebay , all other sites levy taxes.

Anyways , the product is now showing out of stock , the nook HD , if u use hopshopgo, no taxes and chance of being duty free , also hopshopgo is faster and cheaper if no of items is high.

It's still showing in stock for me!
Wanted to see if NJ addresses indeed attract tax and it turned out to be the case!

This is regarding US taxes.
If an online retailer has a physical presence in your state, they will charge the applicable tax. Tax for NY is 8.75% and for NJ is 7% IIRC. Even eBay sellers like btotech who have a presence is NY charge tax if you are getting the products shipped to NY as they are bound by law to do that.
Only 2 states that I know of that don't charge any tax are Oregon and Delaware. Every other state has a tax of between 5-10%.
Secondly shipping will definitely kill the deal if getting through PPOBox or SNS. I regularly import stuff via PPOBox and any purchase I will be making this Black Friday, I will be asking my sister to carry with her when she comes down on Christmas holidays.

Can you be more specific as to why shipping will kill this deal. A quick calculation on PPO suggests shipping and customs costs would be as per what has been suggested by the OP.
