Moto G launched in India at 14k for 16GB model

Ordered a 8Gb MotoG today as a backup phone

when can i expect to my phone to be delivered, I am from Bangalore
 
Got the phone and a White Flip cover. This thing is a beauty. :D Spent the better part of the night playing with "OK GOOGLE" lol Its pretty accurate.

So what can I look ahead to? Should I root the phone? Install an adblocker(Suggestions/link ?) Any other interesting things you guys have done or Apps maybe?

root- hell yeah. adaway and Xposed should keep you occupied for atleast a month. Go for it.
 
I have axis card and don't plan to use it. I am from Gujarat. Do you plan to pay full amount first and when I get cashback I transfer amount to you?

im rooting it..the ads are fu@# annoying..millions of popups while Dling paid apps apks :p
xposed + philz recovery for now

Does using xposed and philz void the warranty?

Dad's using the phone now, but I'm loving the phone without any tweaks. The contact manager is a bit of a b**ch though. keep calling random people even when i want to just browse. Any alternative?

I have not rooted yet..
Bit I head that a lot of settings doesn't work in the dual Sim version..
Like the network traffic, battery icons..
In fact anything related to status bar..
Is that true?

Even my dad is using Moto G. His main feature request was call recorder and so sad it wasn't possible unless I rooted it first. Anyways, long story short - rooted/unlocked - put the call recorder, added Xposed with Gravitybox and used nova launcher to make it look more attractive + used nova's feature of hiding apps to hide the Xposed's app icon so dad won't mess with it. No. Bugs are in custom ROM's. The thing is, u can root/unlock the phone and keep the same official firmware/ROM and just add Xposed to it with gravity box + a good launcher and ur phone will rock 90% of the features which sutom ROM's have.

Asked whether the status bar gravity box settings work with stock room or not

Ah, u didn't mention abt GravityBox, I thought u were askin' for custom rom's problems for now.

Well still my answer - No. It works very well. atleast for 2.9.8, I haven't tried the latest 3.0 of gravitybox. The only problem I faced was gravitybox's dual sim tile but that's okay. Atleast it was there. The dev of the GB has said that dual sim support will come in near future when he get the systemui.apk. I would have provided him that but I didn't have MotoG with me as it is for Dad and I'm in another state right now.

Are you sure the battery percentage icon works with the dual Sim ..
I read a lot of comments in xda that it doesnt work with xt1033

was working fine on 2.9.8 but now I'm not with the phone as it's with Dad, so m not sure at all. Go give it a try.
