PogoPlug Pro - Discussion Thread

I tried with DHCP and it worked. Yes, I had enabled Wifi and tested it through Pogoplug as well.

I think he means, functioning as an access point so the PogoplugPro can broadcast a wireless network and other users can connect to it.

#mannuel - Navigate to the folder ie /usr/local/adl and see if the files are present there. Then edit the file using nano. It shows a blank screen usually when the file doesn't exist etc

varkey corrected me. Nevertheless, forget about that. However I am quite keen on getting my printer Epson T13 recognized by alarm. Any clues for same?

Ok i never did enabled on pogo before installing arch linux maybe thats why.

@mannuel

Its a great mis-conception regarding linux since its a command line , you can always try KDE.

#dinjo - I don't think it matters whether you enable it on their site. What is the exact error you are getting? Are you able to connect to your Wireless Network? Does it show up on the router's active client list?

And regarding the changes to the routing table, this is what I did on the dockstar to make it boot with just the wlan adapter.

#linuxtechie - Did you try installing the drivers? It's available here, but you will need to use the source package. Even then since the kernel is old, not sure whether it would work. All these problems will get resolved once the 3.x kernel is ready!

^ It may show errors like that but does it get connected? As WarheadsSE mentioned in ArchLinux forum, the driver loves to throw errors etc but most of the time it works in spite of that.
<

Anyway are you sure you have entered the security key etc correctly? To troubleshoot, disable all WPA/WEP security, just make your network open and try to connect, and see if it works.

I double what Varkey mentioned. That driver just loves to spit out all the gibberish, but it works.

The network is not even being recognized when i try to scan for Wifi Networks

Hold on! Are you talking about using the plug as AP? Well that's not what those steps are as mentioned by WarHEAD. They are for accessing Wifi network from the plug, that means, your plug connects wirelessly to a wifi router.

Ok now i get it then wifi is of no use to me.

Whats the advantage of using Pogo as Wifi when my wireless router can do that ? Awaiting kernel 3.2

^ Well, you can leave the Pogoplug in one corner with no wires attached (except for the power cord ofcourse
<
) I did that once when there was no BSNL 3G signal anywhere except near the Windows. The router was a bit far and running a cable was not practical. My Dockstar with the Wifi dongle did the trick!

Can you arrange a serial cable and attach to serial port? Something messed up with the environment.

Instead of trying serial cable , try extracting the rootfs again to usb on a linux system then move ahead with serial cable.

if you are keep going to use winscp I dont see you going any further on debugging any issue.

Dear friends i have a problem with pyload download client Yestearday night i used it well when i switched on the pogoplug and tried to access the webinterface of pyload it showes "could not connect to remote server"Error
