Got the info from Nokia's site:

Restore your information

1. Connect the phone to which you want to restore information from your computer using a USB cable. You can use a Bluetooth connection instead but it will be a bit slower. Your phone may ask you how you want to connect. Select PC Suite and then select OK. It is recommended that you connect your phone to a charger for the duration of the restore operation.

2. In Nokia Ovi Suite, select Tools > Restore.

3. Choose a back up from the pull-down menu and select the information you want to restore. The default for each phone is the most recent backup.

4. Select Start to begin restoring data to your phone. Do not disconnect or switch off your phone during the restoration, or quit Nokia Ovi Suite. If you need to stop the restoration, select Stop. Nokia Ovi Suite will reach a safe stop point and will then stop the restoration.

5. Select Finish to close the back up wizard.

I think this is because OTA downloads only new/changed files while NSU downloads the entire firmware again (all the firmware files basically)

i did not create any backup,I know its stupid of me,but got it back by importing contacts into nokia pc suite.

I got Gps working now :).

The thing is i loaded Indaia maps from nokia map loader..but whatever i do it still connects to the internet.

Im getting 4 to 5 bars of signal(satelitte)..

i have only integrated GPS enabled, rest all are disabled.

Google maps works flawlessly again.

@raks and @lostit Thanks a lot :)

Guys have you tried nokia's photo browser it is really cool app replacement for the inbuilt gallery app.

Nokia Photo Browser

Yep was using this. But the sad part is that it doesn't display images with png format.

Whenever i start any GPS software like default OVI maps, Garmin XT or sygic maps, it always initially requests me to connect to positioning server and utilizes some of my GPRS data. It does not need any GPRS later but why there in the first place ??

Actually i dont have issue with it using that but the problem i have faced once is that when my mobile office/airtel live etc was not working i was not at all able to use GPS inspite of having a dedicated GPS in my 5230.

How do i ensure that it does not connect to GPRS at all.

Try disabling AGPS.

^^ I rarely listen to music on my phone so i am sufficed with the default player. But you can try Power MP3 or LCG jukebox.

Which theme you are using guys ? Please do suggest some good ones.

I did installed the orange home screen theme but it wasn't that great experience. Please do let me know some good quality themes :)

^^ Any particular reason u did not like orange HS ?

I for one like it because it provides sort of single touch functionality to many functions and is highly customizable.

Else the phone theme i am using is dark petrol :P

The Step counter didn't worked. I installed it and while accessing it I got a message "Cannot start engine. Quitting"

How am I suppose to get it working. Also how much phone mem. should be free. Currently I have 35.1 MiB free.

Try Sports Tracker. Its an excellent app. It will not only count the number of steps, it will remember the route you took, how much calorie you burned etc. I came across this just yesterday.

Do you have custom firmware or did you install Orange HS with the original FW? If original, how did you do it?

^^Yea even I was looking at the sports tracker application today. WIll give it a try. BTW the link provided above helps me install the step counter.

I have the original FW (updated to the latest). To install the unsigned application simply sign it Symbian Certificate Application and software online signing - OPDA.CN

On to hacking the phone : - I did installed Hello0X2 but there is no Rompather available after installation. ?

5) Install the HelloOX sis file on your phone , restart , goto apps >> ROMPatcher+ >> Tick Installserver_FP2 and options >> auto on startup .
