I have seen over clockers use 2 psu's all the time.(mainly creating world records)

My question is how safely? Can we do this our selves?(besides the green wire method)

Are they specific psu which can to be used in pairs or one can use any 2 identical psu off the shelf & get the same results.

Any shortcomings in doing this 24/7 ?
 
Can anyone tell me where to get the Seasonic 520W bronze PSu in Kolkata.Can it handle a phenom ii x4 955 OCed and HD 6870 smoothly without issues in the long term.it is either the vx550 or this 520W for me.How's the warranty and A.S.S. of Seasonic in Kolkata?

I reckon there were some deals in the dealer section for Seasonic PSUs, check it out if you cant find it locally or else you could also go for VX550W which ideally you should get easily locally. Both of these PSUs will be more than sufficient for you with decent upgrade headroom. :)
 
The only reason for Seasonic is that it is about 1k cheaper than vx550.will the longevity and reliability of this psu be enough in the long run?
 
i have a cm gx 750 w
processor:i7 950
gpu: gtx 460 1gb SLI(two gpu's)

is my psu good enough to OC my gpu a bit and my proccy upto around 3.8ghz??

one CORSAIR 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 VS2GB1333D3 G

HDD sata 40gb/80gb

athlon x2 & mobo AM3 ,80mm,120mm fan in cabby is my config ...

planning to get FSP saga 350w ...is it a good psu to handle the above config ?

try getting FSP Saga II 400 or 500W
 
Ok guys, My VIP PSU died a few days ago. Kindly recommend me a PSU based on this Config.

I use my system only for browsing, downloading, watching movies, listening to music, Gaming (very rare).

CPU+Mobo : Intel P4 3.0Ghz+ Intel D865GBF mobo

Graphics Card: Sapphire HD3650 AGP 8x 512MB DDR2 (it uses Floppy's connector for extra power)

RAM: 1.3GB DDR 400Mhz

Logitech Keyboard & Gigabyte GM M6800 optical gaming mouse

1xDVD Rom & 1xDVD Writer( Both IDE based)

1x 40GB Maxtor IDE & 1x1TB Hitachi HDD sata

Realtek based lancard & 1 PCI to sata card.

My max budget is Rs.2~2.3K

I have shortlisted these PSU's

FSP Saga II 500W

Xigmatek NRP VC 503

Particularly How is the Xigmatek? The difference between those 2 PSU's are max Rs.200/-

Please recommend.

Gigabyte 785GMT DDR3 mobo

2GB DDR3 RAM

1GB ATI Sapphire HD5750 gfx

500GB WD HD

LG DVDRW

I bought a Gigabyte 400W psu..will it be enough to power my rig? ill be playing high end games..
