Hi
My new rig will be bought soon. Not buying a GPU right now( after 5 months when prices fall).
Rough Configuration so far:
Processor-Athlon x3(430/435/440) OR Athlon X4 (630/35/40), depending on model availability.
Case-CM elite 310/430
PSU-VX450W.
Hard Drive- WD Caviar Blue 500gb
Ram-Corsair/Gskill 2x2gb ddr3.
Monitor - Benq/Samsung/Dell -20’ or 22’
Motherboard-GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-US2H or Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
After reading alot of recommendation topics and seeing corsair 450 being mentioned, I've considered it. I like the 5year warranty too.
My only concern is that when I add a good GPU 4-5 months down the line (could be 5770,4850,gtx460,5850 or some well priced 6 series card) and an extra hardrive or 2, that I might be cutting it too close. 550 w corsair vx would push my budget too far(1200-1400 bucks more)
I see alot of members here and other places using FSP saga. Some saga 500w models are under 3k! For the same price of a Corsair 450 I would get much more headroom. They seem to have the 80+ rating too.
I just wanted some insight on this. Im very new to all this pc building stuff. I apologize if my info is wrong. Any one with experiences with both would be great. I don't want to be limited by my PSU when choosing a card a few months later.
Thanks.
