Which replacement cable for TF10?

The main purpose of the Diabolo is to satisfy some Hi-fi friends who have preferences on ROCK music.

The Diabolo got excellent performance when listening fast-tempo songs, and its high-range is direct and clear, intermediate frequency is concise and low-frequency is full of cohesion and forces. Once you taste of the detailed sound and the equilibrium point, you would find that high-frequency is relative calm, not so outstanding amount of sense and hardness which could ensure that there is no fatigue on the sense of hearing. Low-frequency part of the sound is quite prominent. Firstly the low and intermediate frequency interface is very full, so that the intermediate frequency has been well supported. Thus, strengthening in the low range would not seem awkward and lack of coherence. Meanwhile, the low frequency section of the volume being raised, the human voice is also benefited.

I would love to buy the Diablo cable if the above written stuff is true . But I wonder how someone can tune so much and be so specific about frequencies just while making a cable :S Do they make the cable keeping the desired sound / description in mind or write the whole description after some random cable is made and tested :rofl:.

I just got them today. It's a twisted cable with a plastic sheath. It seems well built than the stock cables. But, I was more comfortable with the stock cable as the thick & hard memory wire part of Twilight starts to hurt a bit after an hour.

Since I never had issues with TF10's fit or with the sound, I am not sure if it actually changed the signature. But I felt that TF10 gained a bit in width and sounded more balanced. Mids felt a tad more forward. All of this just might be pure placebo / due to shorter and finicky audio memory. Since it's not worthwhile to change cables just for A-B-ing, take all those impressions with a sea full of salt. You may or may not find a difference in SQ.
 
^ I would be really glad if you could do some real good 1-2 hrs of A-Bing between the cables and provide us with some feedback . Just be careful while plugging and removing the cable from the connector. :)

Also some interesting bits about the effect-audio cable seller on Ebay.

1)He is based in Singapore so we could ask Ritvik or Benny to try out his cables / ask for a discount if the cables are worth it .

2) A feedback left for the Diablo cable by an Indian buyer . Wonder if its someone from TE :P.

you have now crossed the hurdle ! get yourself a good TRS stereo connector and use the stock cable ! :)

I would not recommend going for another TF10 stock cable , cause the cable is where the tf10s dont shine ! :(

also it it was me, i would have only bought the cables which have been tried and tested by TF10 users ....

the only cables i know that are good are :

1. null audio Lune cable ...costs $109, said to bring out the mids and make tf10 complete !

2. The Twilight cable ... great price , great performance :)

3. UE rainbow cable, great cable , better than the twilight ......but no one has compared them to the null cables

4. null audio enyo cable...stiff cable ,. hard to manage , but still good cable that refines the TF10's sound !

5. UE green ..good vfm like the twilight.

It's a real pain to do that. The best way to A-B is if I write down notes while I am listening. Otherwise, the time taken for changing the cables would make me forget what I heard, rendering the whole exercise useless :). While finding time may not be a great issue (there's always late nights), patience is something hard to come by. I'll try to do that sometime as best as I can.

There's one unusual problem with TF10 (for me) though. Usually when I listen to IEMs, most of the time I fall into analysis mode. TF10 is one of the rare IEMs where I don't care about any technicalities. I am not sure why. It just has the 'right' sound - fun, detail, speed - all in right amounts.

I saw it, from the picture it looks like the stock cable so i assumed it must be stiff like the stock cable.
i just want a cheap(less than 60$) cable which is like IE8's cable or atleast like M2's cable, M2's cable is also good not near the IE8's but good.
TF10's like a spring it was hard to fit it into the mobile's cam.
 
^ True . Toxicdrift who was one of the first guys to own a TF10 on TE ,describes them best. Its like the best musical club in your head ! No technicalities , pure musical sound :D .I cant wait to get mine which are still in USA , a friend's brother will be getting them here. Maybe I could A-B them perfectly if I buy upgrade cables cause I will be having 2 of them :rofl:.

the null lune can be brought down to 90 if we organize a GO !!

So how many interested in tf10 cables ?
 
^ hahaha doesn't work that way . Budget for cables 35-50$ .Can convince myself to buy max upto 65-70$ . Anything more than that , need to justify the gain compared to 35-60$ cable. I really can't spend so much moolah on IEMs in a blink of an eye like you big guys :P Can't convince myself to spend on diminishing returns .
 
all things considered the Twilight cables are the best VFM cables ...am sure if we orgainse a go we can get them for $35 shipped !! :)

i am in for 4 cables (:O....4, friends ) if we organize a go!!

I am interested in lune because i can try them with the Miracle also then ! might improve the sound even more :D
 
IE8 cable's pin are smaller than TF10 so they are off the list, diabolo is also off the list(bit expensive).

only options left twilight cable and this:Ultimate Ears Replacement Cable for Super.fi 3, Super.fi 5 Pro, Triple.fi 10 Pro

i can't find the right match for me, i was looking for these things: right angle connector, no memory wire as i prefer ear guide and durable.

only thing about twilight cable is the memory wire, can it be removed?

either case i am in for a twilight cable.

now who's organising? right now we have 4+1+1 confirmed maybe we'll reach 10 atleast.

i would recommend the twilight over the ones in the above post , they are just replacement cables while the twilight are upgrade cables.!

Ask benny he has the twilight cable, about memory wire . i think it can be removed , aint sure ! :ashamed:

I dont have a CC to organize a GO :(

Wait people. Many people's IEMs are to be delivered around/after 25December. Wait till first week of Jan please for a GO. There will be a lot more people for GO in Jan. So please wait.
 
^ Better to organize a GO around Jan 15th or later.

And on Null Audio or other costly cables, I really don't see the point. Instead of $90-100 there, one can always re-mold spending a bit more (or) get another IEM which complements TF10's signature.

as i said , i want lune cable as it will work with my miracle as well ! :)

yeah i am OK for jan (as my miracle are wont be here by then :( )

BTW found some great sites for a cable DIY, if you guys give me more time i might drop off the go!
