Anydoing doing the Rs 2500/2000/4200 via portal plz confirm on this thread :)

@ multi----Now you can try doing the Rs 4200 recharge via http://portal.bsnl.in if the BSNL babus are creating problem there. They just want to sell the data card. Just go to recharge counter direct and ask for Rs 4200 recharge.They should not have any problem recharging the amount for you. Just make sure they do a recharge and not top-up.

I have a plan of taking the 4200 Rupees UL 3g plan..But I dont want to do anything in a hurry..
So I thought of enjoying the first week UL download thing and then recharge accordingly...
I think the new sim will cost 59!With that can u access the above said 1 week UL download thing...
IF no,then what is the minimum recharge amount that is possible?
 
Another possible reason for disconnection is, most of the places bsnl 3G is capability limited to 3.6 Mbps, but the bsnl has not restricted the speed limit to 3.6 in your SIMS/profiles. So once your download managers start crossing 3.6 or 3.5 Mbps approximately and network cannot handle this load it will disconnect your connection. If you notice during normal browsing you will not see frequent disconnection but only during downloading something.. then most probably this is the reason. So advice you people to set the speed limit either in your DM's like IDM to max 3.5 Mbps or if you use any 3G supported routers, the set the speed limit there.

And one more possible reason is, USB power shortage especially when its downloading in high speeds continously. This can be solved by using USB Y-Cable.
 
^^ Can you try with a different device and report back. I know you got good speeds at night but still do give a try...also do a speedtest via mobile as well w/o tethering.

So my current plan expires in 3-4 days, should I do the 4.2k recharge or recharge for 2k for 2 months UL at 1k per month, and then in January recharge for 4.2k?

Will this plan be extended ?
 
^^ I honestly don't expect the offer to be extended. As mentioned, it will most likely end on Jan 29, 2011. So do a 2 month recharge now followed by 6 month recharge in Jan end.
 
^^ Can't assure that, can I.. ;) No one knows how BSNL works. But I believe once they have advertised something like that, they might not withdraw it so easily.
 
Better to do the Rs 4200 recharge and be safe for 6 months. Offer will not be withdrawn but a FUP may be applied...so anymore doing the RCV before any FUP will not be affected. Any in 6 months anyway we will have much better ADSL/Wireless plans due to MNP, WiMax by reliance etc :)

Btw if anyone does the RCV of Rs 2000/2500/4200 successfully via portal plz report back :)...that will save trip to a CSC for many ppl. I had done the 1GB + 5GB night of Rs 606 before 2-3 times and it usually gets activated within 5 minutes with an sms confirming the same

@ time I am posting , @ site for me after login & submitting my 3G sim no , I haven't found 4200/- recharge .
